Farooq Inqlabi Slams Rural Development Department Over Pending Payments to Contractors in Rajouri

RAJOURI NOV 08:– Senior PDP leader, Farooq Inqlabi, has strongly criticized the Rural Development Department (RDD) for its failure to release payments to contractors who completed works under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and constructed segregation sheds last year in Block Budhal New of Rajouri District. Inqlabi expressed deep concern over the financial hardship faced by the contractors due to the non-release of funds, particularly in Block Budhal New.

“The contractors who completed their work in good faith under the SBM scheme are now suffering as the payments for their hard work have not been cleared by the department,” Inqlabi stated. He pointed out that this delay is severely affecting the livelihoods of the contractors, many of whom are struggling to meet their financial obligations.

Inqlabi called for the immediate intervention of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajouri to ensure that the pending payments are cleared without further delay. “The contractors deserve to be paid for the work they have done. The delay in payment is an injustice and it must be addressed at the earliest,” he emphasized.

The PDP leader also issued a stern warning to the officers of the Rural Development Department, stating that if the payments are not released soon, the contractors may have no choice but to stage protests against the administration. “If the government fails to resolve this issue, it could lead to protests by contractors, which will reflect poorly on the administration,” Inqlabi warned.

Inqlabi urged the concerned authorities to prioritize the issue and take swift action to ensure that contractors receive the payments they are rightfully owed.
