RAJOURI AUGUST 27:-Prominent People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, has expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives in the recent landslide near the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

In a statement issued today, Inqlabi conveyed his solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He called the incident a “heart-wrenching tragedy that has shaken the entire region.”

The senior PDP leader strongly criticized the Jammu and Kashmir administration for its “complete failure” in launching timely rescue and relief operations. “Despite early warnings and the known vulnerability of the terrain, the authorities failed to act swiftly and effectively. The delayed response cost precious lives,” he said.

Inqlabi demanded that the government provide ex-gratia compensation of ₹1 crore to the family of each deceased victim, in recognition of the irreparable loss suffered and as a measure of accountability.

He also called for an immediate inquiry into the lapses and urged the administration to ensure such negligence is not repeated in future. “The sanctity of a holy pilgrimage must be matched by an equal commitment to the safety of the pilgrims. The administration must rise above complacency,” he stressed.

Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi concluded by reaffirming his party’s commitment to stand with the people during this time of grief and to ensure justice and support for the affected families.
