SRINAGAR NOV 11:-Faheem Reshi, Chairman of Greater Shah Re Khaas, has called for urgent action to address the growing problem of stray dogs in Downtown Srinagar, which has raised serious concerns about public safety and health.

In a statement released today, Reshi highlighted the increasing frequency of attacks on residents, particularly children and the elderly, as well as the health risks posed by rabies. He emphasized that the presence of stray dogs in packs, scavenging through garbage and frequently attacking individuals, has created a climate of fear in the area.

“The safety of our residents, especially children, is at risk,” Reshi said. “Immediate action is required to address this crisis, and local authorities must prioritize the issue.”

Reshi also pointed to the lack of effective sterilization, vaccination, and animal control programs, which has contributed to the rise in stray dog numbers. He urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to allocate more resources to the issue, calling for a compassionate yet effective approach to managing the stray dog population.

As the situation worsens, Reshi has urged local residents to report stray dog sightings and follow safety guidelines. The call for action reflects widespread concern among Downtown Srinagar’s population, hoping for a safer and healthier environment.
