RAJOURI APRIL 12 :–Executive Officer/Administrator Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board unit Rajouri Abdul Qayoom Mir has banned political speeches in the Masjids which are being looked after by the Waqf department.
The ban came in force after a speech of a Moulana on the last Friday in Jamia Masjid Eid Gah Rajouri went viral on social media platforms, favouring a particular party (during upcoming Lok Sabha Elections).
In his order (No 6 of 2024 dt 7/4/2024) EO, Waqf Unit Rajouri mentioned that complaints have been received about political speeches in the Masjids being looked after by the Waqf department.Such type of speeches favouring any political party is not allowed at all as per Shariat/Islamic laws.
The order reads that recently a speech has also been made viral by one Moulana who was delivering his speech last Friday in Jamia Masjid Eid Gah Rajouri.
The speech favours a particular party which was condemned by every section of society and especially by those who come to offer prayers.
Order further read that it is also a violation of MCC for which ECI shall be requested to go through the facts for taking action under law.
“Keeping in view the facts, it is hereby ordered that no Ulmas excepting the appointed Ulmas of a particular Mosque will deliver any sort of sermon without prior permission of competent authority. The honorarium being released by the Waqf Board (Rajouri) shall also be stopped in case of such Ulmas, who indulge in politics in Mosques besides taking actions as per law” reads order of EO Waqf Unit Rajouri
