RAJOURI, JANUARY 14: Giving a push to strengthen the power sector in the district, the Power Development Department today commissioned an additional transformer of 6.3 MVA capacity at Thudi.

It is pertinent to mention here that the power supply to the Rajouri town was previously supplied by a feeder of 10 MVA capacity but the increased demand of the electricity was enhancing load on the feeder thereby leading to forced curtailments in the town.

This created a lot of inconvenience to the public due to unscheduled power cuts. But now with the commissioning of this new transformer, the sufferings of the people of main Rajouri town will be mitigated to a great extent as the curtailments would now be of lesser duration.

District Administration Rajouri under the leadership of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal is taking effective measures to meet the power demand of the district to ease the lives of the common masses and more steps would be taken in near future to augment power infrastructure in the district.

Pertinent to mention here that the DDC Rajouri, Vikas Kundal has reviewed the power scenario in the district and passed a slew of directions in connection with the Power scenario in the district. The DDC has also directed for installation of 6 Nos of different capacity transformers in the town. The DDC has directed the PDD authorities for the earliest commissioning of this 6.3 MVA transformer which has been done today and it would help in solving the electricity problem of the main town Rajouri.
