SRINAGAR OCT,25:-Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment Javed Rana today inaugurated a newly developed Eco-Park at Chandaji in Bandipora district — a remarkable transformation of a former waste dumping site into a vibrant green space.
The park has been developed using repurposed soil from the dumping site, setting a strong example of how waste can be converted into valuable ecological assets. Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and proactive measures to combat climate change.
With its scenic location en route to Gurez Valley, the Eco-Park is poised to emerge as a promising eco-tourism destination. Apart from offering recreational space to locals, it is expected to generate livelihood opportunities and support the region’s tourism economy — all while preserving nature’s harmony.
