**Commission Ensures Free and Fair Elections, Equal Opportunity for All Parties
RAJOURI OCT,20:-The Election Commission of India (ECI) has intensified its monitoring of the ongoing election process in Bihar and the bye-elections being held in eight Assembly Constituencies (Aansparent elections, maintaining a level playing field for all political parties and candidates.
According to an official statement issued by the ECI, Central Observers have been appointed under the plenary powers conferred by Article 324 of the Constitution of India and Section 20B of tCs) across the country. The move aims to ensure the conduct of free, fair, and trhe Representation of the People Act, 1951. These Observers play a crucial role in assisting the Commission to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process.
For the Bihar Legislative Assembly Election 2025, the Commission has deployed a total of 121 General Observers and 18 Police Observers for Phase 1, and 122 General Observers along with 20 Police Observers for Phase 2. In addition, 8 General and 8 Police Observers have been assigned to oversee the bye-elections in eight Assembly Constituencies.
The Observers have already completed their first round of constituency visits and are now stationed in their respective areas. They have been directed to maintain constant vigilance over the entire electoral process, from campaigning to polling and counting, to ensure impartiality and transparency.
The ECI has instructed the Observers to remain fully accessible to political parties, candidates, and voters to promptly address any grievances or complaints related to the election process. Additionally, they have been asked to visit polling stations regularly and ensure effective implementation of the Commission’s recent initiatives aimed at enhancing voter convenience and participation.
The Election Commission reiterated its commitment to conducting elections that reflect the true will of the people while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and fairness.
