Drug Peddler Arrested, Heroin Recovered by Udhampur Police

UDHAMPUR MAR 19:-A police team from Police Post Roun-Domail, while on patrolling duty in the Dhalpar and Jaganoo areas, noticed a suspicious individual standing near the passenger shed at Tawi Bridge, Jaganoo Morh and apprehended him, who attempted to flee upon seeing the police patrolling vehicle.
Upon conducting a personal search, a white transparent knotted polythene bag containing a heroin-like substance, weighing 3.12 grams (net weight), was recovered from the front right pocket of his trousers.
Upon enquiry, the accused identified himself as Farooq Khan @ Puttu, son of Karan Illahi, aged 40 years, resident of Karowa, Udhampur. The accused was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case under FIR No. 85/2025, registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, at the police station Udhampur.
Further investigation is underway.
