Jammu, :Renowned Educationist Former Vice Chancellor , Dr Shazad Malik has greeted people of the State on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr with a hope that the occasion will be marked with harmony, reconciliation and an end to distressing situation caused by the spread of COVID-19.

In his message, the Educationist prayed the month long fasting and the night long supplications of the faithful are accepted and rewarded by the Almighty. He hoped the spirit of generosity, discipline and piety generated through the Holy month is carried hereafter by people in day to day life as well. He also hoped this Eid brings along everlasting peace, happiness and prosperity to the people of the State.

The Educationist appealed people not to forget the disadvantageous sections of society particularly orphans, widows, destitute and all those who suffered during the turmoil of past three decades during the festivities of Eid and play their positive role in bringing them back to the mainstream of society.

He also urged the divisional administration of Jammu, Kashmir to ensure all basic and effective amenities to the people during the festival and Virus Crisis. He said, “The household requirements of people increase exponentially during the festival and because of Virus crisis . It is therefore imperative for the UT administration to ensure a hassle free Eid to people. I impress upon the incumbent Lt Governor’s administration to ensure all facilities to people across the UT.

Allah is only our saviour and Allah only can redeem us from the current crises,” he said asking the people to abide by the COVID-19 protocol and advisories from the government. “We are going through a grave crisis, any misstep by any person can put the lives of scores of people in trouble. Therefore, I would request the people to heed the concerned advisories of various government agencies. Appreciatively, and rightfully all the religious scholars have also asked people to take required steps to impede the spread of humanity’s worst ever public health nightmare. People should follow the advisories of Mufti Sahibaan as well.”

“Meantime it is for the affluent class to come to the rescue of have-nots. I am sure if all of us pitch in and congregate our efforts, we would easily sail through the existing crises. I express my solidarity with the families of those whose loved ones got devoured in the COVID-19 crises. I pray for early recovery of all those who have tested positive for the contamination,” he said.

On the occasion, Dr Shazad Malik also prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood and upholding human values in the State.
