UDHAMPUR, MAY 10:— Following the Common Minimum Programme provided by J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, Y.P. Bourney and overall Supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, a Legal Awareness Programme on “Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace” (NALSA Scheme 2015) was today organized by District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur in collaboration with Government Girls High School Mantali today at Govt. Girls High School Mantali.

Panel Lawyers Adv. Balwan Singh and Adv. A.S Katoch were the Resource Persons for the Programme.

The main purpose of this Awareness Programme was to sensitize the general masses especially children about the menace of Drug Abuse and its effects on the general society. The Resource persons threw light on all the provisions of the NALSA Schemes for victims of Drug Abuse, impressing upon the gathering especially Victims of Drug Abuse to come forward and approach various Legal Services Institutions for redressal of their grievances, as the drugs not only destroys the victim but also damages the families and the society in general.

The Undersigned later thanked the participants for participating in the legal awareness programme. The undersigned asked the participants to approach Legal Services Institutions as District Legal Services Authority Udhampur is always duty bound to help the needy and distressed members of the society. The programme was attended by Head Master of the School Ashok Kumar ,the students and staff of Govt. Girls High School Mantali.
