RAJOURI, MARCH 03:-– District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today inaugurated an extensive three-day Pulse Polio Programme in the district, underlining its critical role in the eradication of polio.
Collaborating with the Rotary Club Rajouri, under the leadership of KK Langar, the Health Department has undertaken the ambitious task of administering Oral Polio Vaccine to an estimated Ninety thousand children spread across 647 vaccination booths.
Backed by a robust infrastructure, including 2588 team members and 125 supervisors overseeing operations, the program is meticulously planned to ensure comprehensive coverage. Noteworthy is the inclusion of a meticulous house-to-house vaccination drive scheduled for the subsequent two days, aimed at reaching children who might have been overlooked during booth vaccinations on the first day. This initiative is further bolstered by the establishment of 12 transit points and a targeted focus on 32 high-risk areas within the district.
In his address, the District Development Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat underscored the paramount importance of this initiative, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of the district administration to safeguarding children from the debilitating effects of polio.
Encouraging all stakeholders, particularly officials from the Health Department, to approach their duties with utmost dedication, DDC Om Prakash Bhagat directed for a collective effort to achieve the ambitious goal of 100% coverage within the stipulated timeframe. Through collective determination and concerted action, the district endeavors to pave the way towards a polio-free future for its young populace.
