District Administration Rajouri celebrates National Youth Day

RAJOURI, JAN 12:– The District Administration Rajouri, in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), celebrated National Youth Day at Dak Bungalow here today. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, focusing on inspiring youth to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while SSP, Gaurav Sikarwar, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of different institutions who delivered thought-provoking speeches and actively engaged in discussions.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of the My Bharat Portal, recently launched by the Government of India, as a platform to channelize youth contributions. He highlighted how the portal can help young minds understand the implementation procedures of government schemes and assist in their effective execution.

The DC also elaborated on Mission Yuva, a government initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among youth. He encouraged the young participants to actively engage in the ongoing district-wide surveys to ensure the proper implementation of welfare schemes.

On the occasion of National Youth Day, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the timeless message of Swami Vivekananda, advocating for communal harmony, brotherhood, and unity. “Our youth must draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings to contribute to the nation’s progress,” he remarked.

An interactive session followed, where the youth posed questions about career-building and development opportunities. The Deputy Commissioner patiently addressed their queries, providing valuable insights and guidance.

Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer, NYK, spoke about the initiatives undertaken by NYKS to develop leadership and organizational skills among youth and encouraged them to participate in community development programs actively.

The event concluded with a pledge for Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India), reaffirming the district’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse. Students who excelled in various activities during the program were felicitated for their efforts.

Prominent attendees included ACP Sheraz Ahmed, ACD Vijay Kumar Verma, ALC Pradyot Gupta, Principal HSS Rajouri, Muslim Wani, and other district and sectoral officers, along with teachers and students from different institutions.
