District Administration Rajouri Celebrated National Girl Child Day 2021

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Rally flagged off by ADC Rajouri

In order to celebrate National Girl Child Day 2021 and with an aim to generate awareness among the Public to Save and Educate the Girl child, across the district especially among the youth, various Awareness Programmes on BBBP are organised all over the District under the guidance of District Dev. Commissioner Rajouri Rajesh Kumar Shavan.

On this eve, Mega BBBP Rally was falgged off by Addl. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sher Singh, in presence of Addl. SP Liaqat Choudhary, DSEO Rajouri Mr. Bilal Rashid Mir, ACR Mohammad Ashraf in presence of all the district officers, which started from the District Police Line, Rajouri.

Dr. Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer, Rajouri) while interacting with the students at Dak Bungalow Rajouri said that the purpose of the day is to spread awareness among the people about the inequalities girls face in India. It also aims towards promoting awareness about the rights of the girl child and to increase awareness on the importance of girl education, and their health and nutrition. She also said that the District Level Center for Women and the entire District administration of Rajouri is trying to bring about transformational shift in the way our Society looks at the girl child through advocacy campaigns like BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO.

Started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India in 2008, the National Girl Child Day is celebrated on January 24 every year and with the frequent celebrations of such important days leaves a strong emphasis on mindset change through training, sensitization, awareness raising and community mobilization on the ground.

National Girl Child day 2021 is celebrated across the country aswell with the objective of raising awareness on the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR).

Around 700-800 students participated in the rally to mark the National Girl Child day.

No. of events are witnessed all over the District by ICDS Department under the supervsion of PO ICDS Mr. Kartar Singh.

Prominent among others who remained present during the programme/ Rally are Mr. Inzar Rana, ARTO, Mr. Gulzar Hussain CEO, Mr. Mohd Yousaf Lone DYSSO, Mr. Wakeel Bhat, DSWO, Mr. Naseer Ahmed CDPO, Mr. Mirza DSP Traffic, Mr. Sameer Jillani SHO, Er. Zuhaib Shawl, Staff of MSK, Nari Niketan besides other officials from various Departments.
