RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12:-Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting today to discuss arrangements for the celebration of Mahashivratri 2026 across the district.
The DC directed departments to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity at all major temples and congregation points. He emphasised the need for proper traffic regulation and parking management to avoid congestion.
The DC stressed the importance of conducting fire safety audits of temples and temporary structures. He instructed the Municipal and Rural Development departments to ensure proper sanitation, installation of temporary toilets and adequate street lighting near temples.
SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar underscored the need for robust security and surveillance, directing the installation of CCTV cameras in and around prominent temples. He advised organisers to engage trained volunteers to assist devotees and maintain order.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, ACR Mohd Jahangir Khan, Executive Engineer PHE, Executive Engineer PDD, Assistant Director FCS&CA Rohit Kumar, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Gupta, Tehsildar Headquarters Insha Khalid and other district officers.
