Seeks probe against violation of rules, reservation of Pahari Speaking students for 2021-22
Mendhar, June 02:– Apni Party Vice President Youth Wing J&K and Media Coordinator, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan has urged Govt. to consider Pahari speaking student’s admission in various academic courses being offered by the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) – Rajouri.
It was unfortunate to note that the BGSBU has ignored the Pahari students to consider their admission under Pahari speaking quota who have been granted 4% by the Govt. It is injustice with the people who speak Pahari language in J&K and violation of Govt decision, said Raqeeq in a statement to the press.
Expressing surprise, he said, all the reserved categories should have been notified in the admission including Pahari Speaking and accordingly, they should have been given place as per the merits of their respective category. However, the university administration seems to be doing its opposite by not including Pahari speaking as one of the reserved categories in the admission process.
He said that “It shows the biased approach of the university administration towards the Pahari Speaking community and exposes their prejudiced approach and negligent attitude towards the Constitution rights under reservation category.”
In notification advertised by the University Administration for admission in UG and PG programmes for the academic session 2021-22 in which no seat has been reserved for Pahari Speaking students, he alleged.
The Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, he said, should look into the issue and investigate as to why the Pahari speaking student as reserved category was not included in the admission of the students to various subjects being offered by the university.
“People will never expect narrow-mindedness of the university being the highest seat of education,” he added and again appealed to the university to reconsider their decision.
