DDC Rajouri tours border panchayats of block Qila Darhal; Asssesss public demands Assures of early redressal of the genuine concerns

Rajouri, April, 24: To take first hand account of grievances of the border residents at their doorsteps, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today conducted an extensive tour of different panchayats of block Qila Darhal.

Among the others, BDC Chairperson Qila Darhal, Khaliq Firdoz; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhury; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DFO Nowshera, Suresh Manda; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DPO, Chander Kant Bhagat; Tehsildar Qila Darhal, DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt besides concerned officers from PDD, Jal Shakti, PMGSY and PWD and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasions.

The public and their representatives raised a number of issues and demands pertaining to their areas including inadequate water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, upgradation of educational and health institutions besides other related issues were also projected on the occasions.

Specific issues include upgradation of High school Paran to Higher secondary level, lack of ambulance facility, sanctioning of veterinary centre at Baglan, poor internet connectivity at Baglan, shortage of drinking water facility, sanctioning of additional border bunkers, lack of road connectivity in Bagla and Androoth Panchayat, construction of road from Paran to Nadhayla, road from Ujana to Paran via Bella etc.

Some more issues include construction of road from Kalagura to Bagla, sanctioning of old age and widow pension, construction of road from Khalawat to Paran, shortage of staff in educational institutions, upgradation of High school Bagla to Higher secondary level, sanctioning of a health sub center at Bagla, start of work on bridge at Kotli etc.

Issues like construction of PWD Dakbunglow at Qila Darhal, construction of a building for HSS Qila Darhal, sanctioning of a Kendrya Vidiayala, erection of a BSNL Tower, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G, blacktopping of road from Qila Darhal to Kampla, cutting and tailoring centre for women, repair and renovation of PHC at Kamila, sanctioning of funds under BADP, Health subcentre at Lam, milk collection centre at Pukharni besides other related issues were also projected on the occasion.

Public also demanded for upgradation of MS Khanarian to HS level, construction of road from Trathi to Bagla, road from Bali Mah to Kotli, organisation of special camps for the distribution of domicile certificates among the beneficiaries, play ground for panchayat Bagla, sanctioning of additional handpumps, sanctioning of a primary school at Parantop, shortage of electricity poles, seed store centre, exaggerated electricity bills, construction of buildings for BDO office and community hall at Qila Darhal, sanctioning of a bank branch at Qila Darhal etc.

DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands projected on the occasion and assured that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.Many of the issues were redressed on the spot with the intervention of the concerned departments.

DDC said that the District Administration Rajouri is formulating a suitable plan for the proper development of the border belts of the district and sought the cooperation of the public to take the developmental profile scenario of their areas to new heights.

DDC also said that a number of welfare schemes and programmes are being implemented by different departments in the district and urged upon them to avail the benefits of the same.

DDC informed that a 24/7 helpline has been set up at the DC office where the people can call at any time and get their grievances registered for the time bound redressal of the same.

DDC also said that the District Administration is making best possible efforts for the upliftment of the women in the society and urged upon the women to come forward and avail the benefits of women oriented schemes.

Regarding the shortage of electricity poles, the DDC informed that the District Administration is working on the issue and the same would be redressed in a time bound manner.

About the issues of road connectivity, the DDC informed that necessary instructions have been passed on to the concerned authorities for immediately executing the work on the roads which require minor repair and preparation of the DPRs for the major works to ensure better connectivity to the border inhabitants.

Concerning the construction of the border bunkers, the DDC informed that the executing agencies have been directed to complete the work on all the bunkers in the district by the end of April this year.He also said that after the completion of work on these bunkers, a proposal for sanctioning of additional bunkers shall be sent to the concerned authorities for approval.

Regarding the scarcity of water, the DDC said that a number of measures are underway to ensure proper drinking water facility to all the households of the district besides he informed that as many as 264 projects have been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1240 crores under Jal Jeevan Mission and all the households of the district shall be provided with tapped water connection with the completion of work on these projects.

DDC said that such tours of the border areas would be conducted on a regular basis to get the first hand appraisal of their grievances and best possible measures would be taken to resolve the genuine concerns of the border residents to mitigate their sufferings.
