Rajouri, March, 27: The District Development Commissioner, Rajouri ,Mohammad Aijaz Asad today inaugurated ‘Pirpanjal T20 Preimer league’ here at District Police line ground Rajouri.
Tournament was inaugurated in presence of Senior Superintendent of police ,Yougal Manhas, Additional Deputy Commissioner , Sher Singh,Assistant Commissioner Revenue ,Mohd Ashraf ,Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Akhtar Qazi, Nodal Officer Khelo India,Dr Abdul Khabir, Deputy Director Planning Bilal Rashid, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Swaran Singh and other officers from civil and police administration.
A total of four teams are participating in the T20 premier league two from District Rajouri and two from the District Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner Highlighted the importance of sports activities in maintain the overall health of the individual. He said the main purpose of organizing such events from time to time is to explore the potential of the youths and channelizing their energy in the right direction. He said sports activities is the best method to keep the youth away from the ill and hazardous activities like drug addiction which is spreading among the youth at the alarming rate.
DDC also highlighted number of activities undertaken by district administration in order to explore potential of youth like construction of more than 50 play grounds in the district, restructurings of sports infrastructure.
He said the administration has linked the tournament with the SVEEP activities so that the awareness among the masses can be generated regarding the electoral participation and ethical voting as number of hording has been installed round the ground related to accessible elections electoral participation and many more.Meanwhile sports kits have been distributed to students.
