Rajouri 15 June: In order to ensure the successful implementation of Back to Village programme in the district, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened the meeting of district and sectoral officers here in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bunglow to finalize the modalities.
The meeting discussed several measures to be taken for the implementation of the programme in all Panchayats of the district. Under the programme, Panchayats shall be accessed by the Gazetted Officers of the State and each officer shall spend a minimum of 2 days, which includes one night, in the allocated Panchayat.
During the meeting it was informed that there are 312 panchayats in the district and about 90% of the population of the district resides in villages.It was decided that District level committee and block level committees have be constituted to create awareness among the public regarding various aspects of the programme.
It was also decided that the different departments shall organize Melas to aware the public about the schemes which are meant for their welfare.
A separate sarpanch conclave to sensitise all the Sarpanches and officers across the district has been planned on June 19 under which the participants will be informed about the importance of the initiative to make the programme most successful in each of the Panchayat. The participants will also be provided the account of activities that shall be undertaken during implementation of the programme at Panchayat level.
The DDC directed the officers to interact with the people at Panchayat level and take a first- hand account of the issues and problems of the people and give a report to the administration for the redressal of grievances.
He said a template/blueprint has been designed for the convenience of the officers who shall visit the Panchayats and asked the officers to come up with a comprehensive plan so that all the 312 Panchayats of the district are covered.In this connection, liaison official shall also be nominated who will assist the officer during his stay in the Panchayat.
All the District/Sectoral officers have asked to submit activity list by or before 11am on 19.06.19. The Block development officers have been tasked to provide a list of activities to be taken up at Panchayat level within two days.Regarding security arrangements the SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas assured that security will be ensured in the district through area domination and other security drills.
Towards the end of the meeting, District Development Commissioner made all the instructions amply manifest to make Back to Village Programme a grand success.
