RAJOURI MARCH 03:– Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri asked the concerned officials/o fficers for taking effective and immediate measures for speedy redress of genuine public concerns.
He was chairing a Block Diwas event on Wednesday at Doongi which was also joined by DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhury; BDC Doongi, Raiz Chowdhury; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CHO, Madan Lal; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mehmood Khan; ARTO, Shami Kumar; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; & social Activist Anees Kassana.
Public representatives sought better road connectivity, up-gradation of water and power infrastructure, meeting shortage of staff in education and health institutions etc.
Important issues raised in the event include Tehsil status for Doongi, start of work on the already sanctioned GDC Doongi, sanctioning of a medical block at Chatyar, start of work on KV school, adequate staff at PHC Naryala and PHC Androoth, sanctioning of a PHC for Nambla and Challas, up-gradation of the already functioning health institutions etc.
People also demanded implementation of the Jal Jeevan schemes, meeting the shortage of electricity poles, streamlining of electricity bills, augmentation of the power infrastructure, tendering of Chitti Bakri to Nambla road, renovation of Sasalkote to Challas road, Keri to Dassal road.
On this occasion, people were also educated about a number of schemes and programs being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail benefits of the same.
“Block Diwas, a public outreach event is aimed at better coverage of government schemes, enhanced interaction with common man and effective monitoring of the developmental projects & the public participation is necessary for achieving the goals of development,” said DDC, Vikas Kundal.
“The District Administration is taking concrete measures to make Government services more transparent, easily accessible to the public. Dedicated efforts are being made to generate more employment avenues to help the unemployed youth by providing them the necessary platforms” he added.
While addressing the issues and demands of the general public, Vikas Kundal, DDC exhorted the officers to take immediate measures to mitigate the problems of the people highlighted during the public outreach program.
“Proposal for Eklavya Model Residential School in this area stands submitted to the concerned authorities for necessary action at their end,” said DDC and added asked officials of Fisheries department for holding camps to educate the people about various schemes.
The DDC asked PDD officials to set up ahelpline number for mitigating power supply issues and asked the district & sectoral officers to ensure better implementation of the government schemes on the ground & ensure no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits of these schemes.
