DC Srinagar holds meeting of Revenue officers Encroachment removal schedule finalised All vacancies of Lambardars and Chowkidars to be filled on priority

Srinagar March 25:–A meeting under the Chairmanship of Mr. Mohammad Aijaz (IAS) Dy. Commissioner, Srinagar was held today on 25-03-2021 at Banquet Hall Srinagar in which all the Revenue Officers of District Srinagar including ADCs, ACR/AC Nazool/ SDMs and Tehsildars / Naib Tehsildars of District Srinagar participated. The Revenue Officers meeting was an introductory meeting as well as a review for the progress in Revenue targets / achievements in the District.
The Dy. Commissioner Srinagar at the outset impressed upon the Revenue Officers to work with dedication, zeal and zest and ensure the writ of Law and public service delivery in a time bound manner. The completion of Jamabandi, Girdawari work shall be ensured and the removal of encroachments from State / Kahcharai lands shall be the top most priority of all the Tehsildars and the land bank shall be established to keep the retrieved land freezed for developmental projects and construction of Government infrastructure. A target of 500 Kanals was fixed for Seven Tehsildars for the month of April 2021. The progress of DILRMP was also reviewed in which the District Srinagar has so far achieved a target 115 digitized Jamabandies as against the total No. of 137 villages of District Srinagar, status of Revenue & Court Cases, Status of Domicile Certificates and redressal of grievances was the main agenda which the chair stressed upon for its early completion / redressal. The chair expressed his satisfaction upon the promptness and work culture of Revenue Officers and appreciated the District Team for their efforts in maintaining the Law & Order, Covid-19 situations and disposal of revenue matters with efficiency. It was also impressed upon all Tehsildars to revive and strengthen the institutions of Lumberdars and Chowkidars and revamp the gross root level functionaries with more vigour and vitality so that they can be instruments of change at village level and also help the Revenue Administration in identification of encroachers as well as in saving the Government Land i.e. State & Kahcharai land from being encroached.
The chairman exhorted upon the Revenue Officers in improving the work culture and said that a blueprint will be made for developing infrastructure for Revenue Offices and making the Revenue Administration people friendly, responsive and vibrant for the mitigation of grievances of the people and fulfilling the targets / requirements which are being assigned to the Revenue Department by the Government.
