Rajouri Jan.31: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad,today visited Sher-e Kashmir bridge site and inspected the site for construction of the bridge. It is pertinent to mention here that the approval for the construction of the said bridge, along with other projects was given by Principal secretary finance, on his day-long tour to Rajouri yesterday.
The DDC was accompanied by the engineers from PWD department, Tehsildar Rajouri, naib tehsildar Rajouri besides other revenue and PWD functionaries.
DDC instructed the Tehsildar Rajouri and other field functionaries of PWD department to clear all the bottlenecks so that the work on the said bridge will start soon. He also directed the engineers of PWD to float the tenders for the construction of said bridge within two days.
With its construction, the long-pending demand for the bridge will be fulfilled, the DDC said, adding that, he said with the construction of this bridge the problem of traffic congestion will be resolved once for all.
Meanwhile, DDC Visited various locations at Rajouri-BGSBU Road with revenue and PWD officers in regarding the land acquisition for construction of double-lane university Road. The revenue Team constituted for the purpose has started acquisition proceedings.
