DC Rajouri reviews implementation and progress of scholarship schemes in district;Make added efforts for effective implementation of welfare schemes: DC to officers

Fixed 03 days deadline for clearing scholarship pendency at school level; 02 days at College level

Rajouri, December, 20:- The implementation of various scholarship schemes for ST, OBC, physically Handicap and Economically Backward Classes was today reviewed by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal here at a meeting.

Among the others, CEO Education, Abdul Majid; Principals of GDCs, District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt, Tehsildars besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Discussing the scholarship schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare and Education department including ST, SC, OBC and Pahari for pre and post-matric students, the DC sought a detailed report from the HODs about the scholarship disbursed among the students so far who in turn briefed about the same.

DC asked the concerned officer to take concrete measures to cover all eligible beneficiaries under the schemes and ensure that no eligible student in the district is left out from availing of the benefits of scholarship schemes.

He also directed the CEO of Education to clear the pendency concerning disbursement, and registration of students under scholarship within three days and Principals of GDCs in two days.

While reviewing other welfare schemes being implemented by the department in the district, the DC exhorted the officers to ensure effective implementation of all schemes in a focused and concerted way so that the desired objectives are achieved at the grassroots level.

He also stressed holding mass awareness programs about various schemes of the Social Welfare Department utilising the latest methods of mass communication as well as social media at village and block level.
