RAJOURI, AUGUST 14— Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today visited Block Plangarh, where he held a public grievances redressal camp and inaugurated a plastic waste management unit. The camp was attended by a large number of people, including former PRIs, who put forward various demands and issues of their areas.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the public that their issues would be addressed on priority. Specific demands included the development of Lah Bawli, which has huge tourism potential, and the completion of work on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme at Bhattian. Regarding the development of Lah Bawali, the Deputy Commissioner assured that all team of officers from Tourism, PWD, PDD, Forest, and RDD departments shall visit the area to explore the possibilities of developing the area as a tourist destination. He passed on spot directions to the concerned departments for ensuring the redressal of issues highlighted by the public on priority and in a time-bound manner.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated a Plastic Waste Management Unit (PWMU) in the block, which has been constructed to tackle the problem of plastic waste in the region. He told the public that the unit is an asset for the area and highlighted its importance in processing plastic wastes . He also emphasized the need for public participation in maintaining the unit and ensuring that it functions effectively.
The officers who remained present on the occasion were; ACP, Sheraz Chowhan; SDM Thananandi, Abid Hussain Shah and BDO Plangarh, Sheikh Wajid.
