DC hold virtual meeting with religious heads, Eid prayers shall be held in local Mosques.

:–In the wake of a continuous upsurge in the number of Covid-19active cases and keeping in view the approaching Eid-ul-Fitr festival, Deputy Commissioner has sought the active cooperation of religious leaders in containing the pandemic.
Rajesh Shavan, Deputy Commissioner held an interactive meeting with the prominent religious leaders of the district through virtual mode and informed them that the administration is taking every possible measure in containing the pandemic in the district.
“The upsurge in active Covid cases needs to redouble the efforts and the administration need the cooperation of the religious leaders in this regard during the festival” said DC.
Religious leaders were requested for the enforcement of covid appropriate behavior during the festival, including maintaining social distancing, avoiding large gatherings and congregations.
“Religious leaders and heads have a key role during the fresh wave of Covid-19 as they are the role models for the common masses and the people will follow their footsteps” said DC.
He appealed to religious leaders to motivate people to go for vaccination and to follow SOPs in this fight against the deadly virus.
“During the interaction, it was unanimously decided that no congregational prayers shall be held in Eidgahs and instead, Eid Prayers shall be held at local mosques amid strict covid-19 guidelines of social distancing” said an official.
The religious leaders assured full support to the administration in this regard, he added.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Sheema Nabi Qasba also interacted with the religious leaders and sought their active cooperation with the police and the civil administration in their fight against the COVID19 pandemic.
Th.Sher Singh, Additional DC also joined the virtual meeting.
