CHENAB VALLEY SEPT 12:-Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today conducted an extensive visit to Doda market to review the availability of essential supplies after granting a two-hour relaxation period for the public to purchase necessities. During the visit, he interacted with the Market Association and local residents, assuring them that their concerns and requirements would be addressed on priority.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Kandhote in Thathri Subdivision to assess the damages caused to NH-244 and power infrastructure due to massive landslides in the area. Col (Retd) Ajay Thakur, GM NHIDCL, briefed him about the ongoing restoration works and assured that the affected stretch would soon be made roadworthy to facilitate the movement of essential supplies.
He further reviewed the supply chain mechanism to ensure uninterrupted transit of essential commodities to Kishtwar District and the subdivisions of Thathri and Gandoh. The visit was primarily aimed at expediting restoration of connectivity and power, while maintaining smooth movement of people and uninterrupted supply of daily necessities during the prevailing situation.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Anil Thakur, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Thathri, Sheetal Sharma.
