RAJOURI-DELHI JULY 03:-The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for ten capital acquisition proposals worth approximately ₹1.05 lakh crore under the ‘Buy (Indian–Indigenously Designed, Developed, and Manufactured)’ category.
The AoNs were approved under the chairmanship of Raksha Mantri (Defence Minister) Rajnath Singh during a meeting held on Thursday (July 3).
The proposals include the procurement of Armoured Recovery Vehicles, an Electronic Warfare System, an Integrated Common Inventory Management System for the Tri-Services, and Surface-to-Air Missiles.
According to the Ministry of Defence, these acquisitions aim to enhance mobility, strengthen air defence capabilities, improve supply chain management, and boost the operational preparedness of the Armed Forces.
Additionally, AoNs were granted for the procurement of Moored Mines, Mine Counter Measure Vessels, Super Rapid Gun Mounts, and Submersible Autonomous Vessels, which will help mitigate potential risks to naval and merchant vessels.
“To provide further impetus to indigenous design and development, all AoNs were accorded under the ‘Buy (Indian-IDDM)’ category,” the Ministry stated.
