397 migrant labourers sent to their home states Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh today
60 more to be transported to their home state Bihar tomorrow
Rajouri, June,12:Aiming to facilitate the stranded labours in their interstate movement, the district administration Rajouri under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Friday sent a fleet of vehicles carrying 397 labourers mostly hailing Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh to Katra from where they shall be transported to their home states in special trains.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh said that all the logistics arrangements in terms of food, drinking water and other essentials have been made by the district administration to facilitate the labourers during their journey. He also said that a liaison officer has been deputed in each vehicle who is moving with the labourers up to Katra to take care of their needs and to ensure that they don’t feel any inconvenience during their journey and these officers shall report back after dropping the persons at the scheduled place.
He added that the process of registration of these labourers in the district has been done by the labour department Rajouri.
He informed that district administration has also completed all the groundwork to send 60 migrant labourers tomorrow to their home state Bihar.
The labourers on the occasion have expressed their gratitude to the district administration for its tireless efforts to facilitate them during lockdown amid COVID19 and for taking care of their needs during their temporary stay in the district.
