RAJOURI, JULY 23:– In a remarkable demonstration of swift action, seamless coordination and an unwavering commitment to public service, the District Administration Rajouri—under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma—successfully rescued and saved the life of a child trapped in a river near Muradpur, Rajouri, amidst flood-like situation.

The life-saving operation was made possible through the prompt mobilisation of resources and close coordination with the Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police. A critical element of the rescue was the timely arrangement of an Army helicopter, ensuring that the child was rescued from the river. Two youth—Imtiaz Ahmed, S/o Mohd Sadeeq, R/o Kakora and Mustafa Hussain, S/o Arab Hussain, R/o Chandigarh—also played a vital role in assisting the District Administration during the rescue operation. In recognition of their courage and timely support, the DC felicitated both individuals with a cash award of ₹5,000 each.

This mission stands as a shining example of how duty and humanity can go hand in hand. The coordinated response not only saved a life but also highlighted the spirit of unity, compassion, and selfless service that defines our nation.

The Deputy Commissioner, demonstrating tireless dedication to public welfare, personally monitored the operation and ensured all necessary support was extended without delay.

The DC extended heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, J&K Police and all officers involved in this successful and inspiring mission.
