RAJOURI SEPT 06:–Uncle and nephew(Mama-Banja) from Budhal seat and uncle and nephew (Chacha- Batija) from Kalakot face to face- Independent candidate ready to give a tough fight to Congress and BJP in Surankot seat, close contest between BJP state president and Surendra Chaudhary in Nowshera assembly constituency

Voting is going to be held in the second phase in five assembly constituencies of Rajouri district and three assembly constituencies of Poonch. Septembwr 05 was the last date of filing nomination papers. 48 candidates from five assembly constituencies of Rajouri district have submitted their nominations while 33 candidates from three assembly constituencies of Poonch district have submitted their nomination papers.

Looking at the situation after filing of nomination papers, a close contest is being considered on every seat. While uncle and nephew are facing each other from Budhal seat, uncle and nephew are facing each other in the electoral field from Kalakot. On Surankot seat, BJP rebel has submitted nomination papers as an independent candidate, while against the Congress candidate, the former MLA has also submitted his nomination papers as an independent candidate.

RAJOURI CONSTITUENCY

First of all, talk about Rajouri assembly constituency. Thanna Mandi and Manjakot have been separated from Rajouri assembly constituency and added to the newly formed Thanna Mandi assembly constituency. Rajouri assembly constituency has 88526 votes, while the main contest on this seat is believed to be between NC-Congress joint candidate Iftikar Ahmed and BJP candidate Vibodh Gupta, but BJP rebel Chaudhary Talib has also submitted his nomination papers, due to which the contest on this seat is sure to be very interesting. Not only this, independent candidate Mian Mahfooz and former judge Zubair Ahmed will also work to split votes. At present, the contest in Rajouri assembly constituency will be very interesting.

NOWSHERA CONSTITUENCY

Nowshera assembly constituency has 85248 voters, like 2014, the main contest on this seat is between BJP candidate Ravinder Raina and NC candidate Surendra Chaudhary. In the 2014 elections, BJP candidate Ravindra Raina won the election. At that time Surendra Chaudhary contested from PDP. Whereas this time Surendra Chaudhary has contested from NC ticket. This seat is considered to be a close contest between the two.

KALAKOT CONSTITUENCY

There are 96587 voters in Kalakot Sundarbani assembly constituency. The main contest on this seat is considered to be between BJP candidate uncle Thakur Randhir Singh and NC candidate nephew Yashuvardhan Singh. Both uncle and nephew are in the field to win the election and are organizing rallies at various places, but Arun Kumar Sharma, a resident of Sundarbani, has submitted his nomination papers as a candidate of his party, while former MLA of Kalakot Ashok Sharma has submitted his nomination papers from Ghulam Nabi Azad’s party DPAP. Both these leaders will also get a lot of votes from their respective areas, but still the contest is considered to be between uncle and nephew.

THANNAMANDI CONSTITUENCY

The newly formed Thanna Mandi Assembly constituency has 121239 votes. NC and Congress Alliance candidate Shabbir Ahmed Khan filed nomination paper as their, while BJP has fielded Mohammad Iqbal Malik. PDP has fielded Chaudhary Qamar Hussain from this constituency. While NC’s rebel former judge Muzaffar Hussain has also entered the fray as an independent candidate from this seat. A tough fight is certain between all the candidates on this seat and the margin of victory on this seat will also be very low.

POONCH HAVELI CONSTITUENCY

Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency has 127221 votes, while NC and Congress have fielded Aijaz Jan as their joint candidate on this seat. Aijaz Jan had won the 2008 election from this seat on NC’s ticket. While BJP has fielded Chaudhary Abdul Ghani. At the same time, Apni Party has fielded Shah Mohammad Tantray , who won the 2014 election from this seat on PDP’s ticket, PDP fielded Shamim Ganai. There is a tough competition between these three while Uddeshya Kumar, who has entered the electoral fray as an independent candidate, can also make a big difference on this seat.

SURANKOT CONSTITUENCY

Surankote assembly constituency has 112193 votes. From this seat, BJP has Fielded Mushtaq Bukhari its candidate, who has won the election from this seat twice on NC ticket. While NC and Congress have made Shahnawaz Chaudhary as Alliance candidate. BJP’s anger DDC member Sohail Malik has filed nomination papers as an independent candidate. Chaudhary Akram, who is anger from NC for not getting the ticket, who has won the election from this assembly constituency on Congress ticket, has entered the electoral fray as an independent candidate. Due to which a tough competition is being considered on this seat as well, but the main contest is sure to be between Congress and BJP.

MENDHAR CONSTITUENCY 

Mendhar assembly constituency has 107676 votes. On this seat, NC has made Javed Rana its candidate. Javed Rana has won the election from this seat twice. While BJP has made Murtaza Khan its candidate. PDP has fielded Nadeem Khan as its candidate on this seat. It is believed that there will be a close contest between these three candidates on this seat.
