RAMBAN, October 17:–All J&K Youth Federation, Ramban District Committee,Convenor, Muzaffar Malik, and Executive Member Imran Farhat expressed deep regret and concern over the increase of unemployment ratio in the country as well as in the UT of J&K.

In a joint press statement District Convenor and District Executive Member said that tall claims to fill vacancies in government institutions on fast track basis in centrally administered Jammu and Kashmir are baseless, despite the registration of educated youth in the employment exchange, the government had failed to take any steps to eradicate unemployment in the centrally administered Union Territory.

They further said that according to API, more than two lakh educated unemployed in Jammu and Kashmir have registered with the employment exchange and the youth federation believes that from the last three decades, it have been heard that there are more than one lakh vacancies in government institutions and steps will be taken on a fast track basis to fill these vacancies. However, the educated unemployed youth who have registered themselves with the employment exchange have now crossed the age limit to get government jobs. Even so, such educated unemployed youth have not been provided employment till date, even in the private sector, such unemployed have not been provided loans by financial institutions to stand on their own feet and more than half a million educated youth are becoming unemployed after completing their graduation and post graduation studies in J&K because of which many educated unemployed are being forced to stumble.

They further added that each year a large number of employees retire from government offices in the centrally administered tribal areas, after completing their service. No concrete action is being taken in Jammu and Kashmir to fill these gaps and that’s why employees have been retiring for the last 40 years. The proportion of the population is increasing every year, but the manpower in government institutions is declining instead of increasing as a result, the common people are suffering. Projects are not being completed on time, thus the funds allocated for construction and development are running out and now the country is in dire straits. In this situation, it not seems to be difficult but impossible for the center government to provide employment to the educated unemployed youth as per their claims and promises being made by them.

All J&K Youth Federation District Ramban Committee urged upon the Govt of India in general and the LG Administration of J&K in particular to save the aspirations and future of the Educated Un-employed Youth by providing them the opportunities to serve the nation in accordance to their capabilities and appealed the government to clear and issue of all the pending selection lists, conduct all the pending written tests and interviews, and fill all the vacant posts in every govt. department as early as possible so that the educated unemployed youth will take some sigh of relief.
