RAJOURI AUGUST 30:-Former Cabinet Minister and Vice President J&K BJP, accompanied by MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh and District President Dav Raj Sharma, met with District Administration Rajouri Abhishaikh Sharma, IAS, DIG Tajinder Singh IPS and Gaurav Sarikarwar IPS SSP Rajouri. They commended them for their prompt action and effectiveness in dealing with the flood-like situation in the area, ensuring no loss of lives.
Chowdhary Zulfkar emphasized need for the Administration to immediately assess the losses caused to the people in the recent flood and heavy rains. Dy Commissioner assured that all necessary efforts would be made to address the situation, and the administration has already circulated telephone number for the public to register their complaints.
Chowdhary Zulfkar also highlighted various issues pertaining to the Rural Development Department, where houses constructed under PMAY have been damaged or washed away during this rainy season. He urged the administration to provide assistance to rebuild these houses under PMAY and SDRF. Furthermore, he suggested that alternative land be provided to reconstruct houses in areas where the land has become unstable.
He also demanded the settlement of all pending SRO 43 cases in the district in a time-bound manner, as per the directions of the Hon’ble LG.
The BJP leaders expressed serious concerns over the alteration of the Capex Plan formulated by the Gram Sabha.They stressed the need for streamlining MGNREGA, maintaining transparency in the distribution of solar lights, and ensuring timely payments based on the chronological submission of bills.
The BJP leaders also emphasized that the administration should not construct the sewerage treatment plant in Palma and Pharwala areas, as these areas are located on a water body, adjacent to the lift water supply scheme, a famous temple, densely populated areas, and the headquarters of the RR force. They cautioned that this could pose a significant health hazard.The officers listened to the issues patiently and assured for redressal. The meeting was attended by, among others, including ACD Rajouri and CPO Rajouri.
