**CEO suspends PET for unauthorized absence**
RAJOURI FEBRUARY 15:-Chief Education Officer Rajouri, Mohammad Hafeez Sheikh, conducted a surprise inspection of Government High School Palma, falling under Education Zone Baljaralan, a few days ago.
The inspection aimed to assess staff regularity, punctuality, discipline, and the overall academic functioning of the institution.
During the inspection, it was observed that the Headmaster of the school had remained absent from duty for three consecutive days without prior permission.
This resulted in poor academic supervision and reflected unsatisfactory institutional functioning.
It was further noted that students of Class 8 were found roaming outside the school premises during school hours under the pretext of a sports period. Meanwhile, the concerned Physical Education Teacher (PET) was absent from duty at that time and arrived late during the inspection, indicating serious negligence and dereliction of official responsibilities.
Taking cognizance of these findings and in the interest of maintaining discipline and proper institutional functioning, the CEO issued a strict order on Saturday.
Koshall Kumar, PET at High School Palma, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, pending further inquiry under applicable service rules.
During the suspension period, the teacher will remain attached to the office of the Zonal Education Officer, Baljaralan, and shall not leave the station without prior permission of the competent authority.
He will be entitled to a subsistence allowance as per the rules.
Additionally, given the poor management and overall unsatisfactory functioning of the school, Headmaster Sukrita Gandotra is required to submit a written explanation as to why one day’s salary should not be deducted for unauthorized absence and mismanagement, in line with applicable rules.
Furthermore, all teaching staff members of High School Palma have been instructed to provide detailed written explanations regarding their poor performance in maintaining institutional efficiency.
