CHENAB VALLEY JULY 18:–Bunjwah, A neglected region in Kishtwar district having the status of Tehsil Headquarters and having its boundaries with Himachal Pardesh, Padder, and Bhalessa and river Kali Naag is having its origin in Bunjwah, flowing toward Dunadi Thathri and forms the Chenab called as Chandra Bhaga. Bunjwah is a naturally decorated region like Bhaderwah and its beauties can be compared with Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Patnitop, and other famous tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir. This naturally decorated region of Chenab valley always becomes the prey of politics as no one representative and even DDC Member Bunjwah don’t pays to heed its development. As it has so many natural beauties like rivers, springs, meadows, and evergreen forests.

 

In Bunjwah a famous picnic spot is popularly known as “DEVIGOAL” in village Patnazi 9 km away from Tehsil Headquarters Bunjwah is a naturally decorated place in Bunjwah that is covered with lash green firest of deodar, kail, fur, Himalayan mountains, and many more. A water spring located in the middle of DEVIGOAL Bunjwah had made its valve and shine in this remote region.

This famous picnic and tourist spot remain untouched with road connectivity and the tourism department failed in bringing it on the tourism map. Unfortunately, this region is always neglected by the district administration and the Kishtwar Development Authority and Youth Services and Sports. The only link road is known as Dunadi Bunjwah, KewaPull Kither, Tanta Devigoal, and Patnazi either road is in worse condition from the last few decades.

“It is time to think about how peoples are residing in this remote region of Kishtwar in the 21st century when slogans are raised of Digital India. It is pertinent to mention that the tourism department and Kishtwar Development Authority have not looked over this naturally decorated region of Kishtwar district.

The public of Bunjwah seeks personal intervention of Lieutenant Governor Shri. Manoj Kumar Sinha to personally intervene in this matter and direct concerned authorities in bringing Devigoal Bunjwah under the tourism sector and constructing of tourist huts and toilets, Children Parks at Devigoal an earliest so as Bunjwah shall become the best tourist destination in Chenab valley.

Locals also demanded for organising the Devigoal festival 2024 in collaboration of the Tourism Department
