Rajouri,May 15:–Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued eight bovines in far flung Methyani Gala forest village area of Police Post Teryath.
A team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Teryath, SI Habib Pathan was on routine patrolling when a smuggler was spotted carrying bovines by foot in hill top after which police team acted swiftly and launched an operation.
Sensing police movement, bovine smuggler fled from the spot leaving behind eight bovines which were rescued from the spot.
Police has started search to identify and nab the accused bovine smuggler while a case under relevant sections of law including 188, 295-A RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Dharamsal.
