Bovine Smuggling bids foiled in Rajouri, four animals rescued

Rajouri March 03:–Jammu and Kashmir police in Nowshera sub division areas foiled two different bovine smuggling bids rescuing four animals from the clutches of smugglers.

Police said that in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, police team from Kalakote police station established a naka at Dhyala on Kalakote Rajouri road and a vehicle JK11D 8214 was signalled to stop.
However, driver of this vehicle abandoned it at some distance and escaped from there after jumping out from the vehicle.

During checking two bovines were found loaded in the vehicle that were rescued and the vehicle has been seized with the case under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station and manhunt of accused driver is going on.

In another case, Tata mobile with registration number JK11F 3203 was intercepted by police team of Nowshera police station and two bovines being smuggled in the vehicle were rescued.

Driver Sajid Ahmed son of Mohammad Azam resident of Thalka Nowshera and Yasir Khurshid resident of Thanamandi have been arrested where is the vehicle has been seized and a case under relevant section of law has been registered.

SSP Rajouri Mohammad Aslam said that action against bovine smugglers by foiling bovine smuggling bids is one of the main priority of the police in the district for which necessary directions stand issued all the police establishments across the district and teams are police from all the police stations and police force are working in letter and spirit.

He added that a number of bovine smuggling incidents have been foiled in recent across the district.
