Bovine Smuggling Bid Foiled In Udhampur, 05 Vehicles seized, 59 Bovine Animals rescued and 06 Smugglers Arrested

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 14:–Udhampur Police have foiled a major bovine smuggling bid under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and Chenani where in 59 bovine animals were rescued which were being transported to Kashmir valley in 05 different vehicles.

Police naka party of PS Udhampur at Jakhani naka,stopped 03 trucks which were carrying bovine animals. The drivers of these trucks couldn’t produce permission to transport these bovines.On physical checking of the vehicles the police team found the 53 bovines loaded in all the three trucks in a very cruel manner. The police team immediately seized all the three vehicles and three accused (drivers of the three trucks) were also arrested on spot.Trio have been identified as Mohd. Mirza S/O Mohd. Sharif R/O Sajalta, Udhampur, Umar Ahmed S/O Mohd. Amin R/O Verinag and Ishtiaq Ahmed S/O Abdul Aziz R/O Anantnag
03 FIRs under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the cases is in progress.

The arrest and recoveries were made by SHO PS Udhampur Insp. Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of Addl. SP Udhampur Sh. Anwaar Ul Haq and DySP Hqrs. Sh. Sahil Mahajan.

Similarly two more nakas by Police Station Chenani led by SHO PS Chenani Insp. Charanjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Sh. Ahmed Shaafi rescued 06 bovine animals 03 each at motorshed naka point and from Chowka Nala,Chenani. In this connection, FIR 53/2022 and 54/2022 were registered under the prevention of cruelty to Animals Act at PS Chenani . 03 accused persons were also arrested in tgese two cases while further investigations are going on.
