RAMBAN July, 03:– All J&K Youth Federation District Ramban Executive Member Imran Farhat expressed deep concern over yesterday tragic accident vehicle Sumo JK 03E 3218 at Digdole in District Ramban NH44 J&K. The very sad and unfortunate news of death of 5 passengers in fatal road accident. My heartfelt condolences to family members relatives and friends of deceased passengers. He said, roads are the life line of a country. But unfortunately in our J&K National highway Ramban to Banihal. They are the death line of innocent people. He said, the highway widening work was started in 2011 and it was targeted to be completed within five years from its commencement. Government is not paying any heed to the worst condition of the road from Ramban to Banihal. At least, please check the fitness of vehicles and issue driving licences properly, also fill up the potholes which are causing accident’s.

Imran said, Lot of innocent people lost their lives due to worst condition of road. Our life has become miserable ever since the work on the highway project started. The executing agencies have outsourced their work to local contractors who do not have much expertise and experience of cutting mountains, as a result of which we are facing increased landslide activity even if there is a drizzle, as a result number of accident every day. In past many years we have lost almost thousands of precious lives in this national highway accidents. The Government must come up with a concrete roadmap to curb these accidents and must ensure the safety of passengers. Driving licenses of habitual violators of the traffic rules must be cancelled.

He said, Every year thousands of lives are lost in road accidents in Ramban to banihal. The highest number of road mishaps takes place in this areas. While moving on this highway, commuter remain under a constant threat of shouting stones and landslide is like a death trap and we often go through it. The authorities have been seen sitting as mute spectators while number of accidents are happened  daily basis. The rise in road traffic without well suited increase of road network has also been one of the factors responsible for traffic mishaps. Representatives and authorities need to put their heads together to come out with some corrective measures which can result in saving hundreds of precious lives lost otherwise in avoidable road accidents. As most of the accidents are blamed for rash and negligent driving. For this government should rise to the occasion, and initiate such measures which can make a difference on the ground so as precious lives can be saved.

He further said, Blood bath continue in Ramban to banihal national highway from last several decades. The Govt and it’s agencies wake up to the situation only after some major accidents has taken place. otherwise, the Govt agencies go into deep slumber after announcing half hearted measures to check the number of accidents and promises to improve the road conditions as well as the commuter services. Meanwhile like corruption in traffic police, condolence, messages of politicians, civil societies in J&k national highway had become a habit of politicians and others as they are waiting for happening of accidents.
He further added, It is bitter truth and hurts me so badly that, soon after the incident of traffic accident happen, representative, political leaders circulated their condolence messages and express sympathy with bereaved families. He said, being a citizen of Republic India, I asking from representative and every citizen of j&k, who is responsible behind traffic accident.? He added, that all legislatures, politicians are playing dirty game with j&k resident’s. As during election rallies they made big promises with voters but reality differs to its fiction after election results without fulfilling the demands of public.

Therefore we plea our handfold request to the LG Manoj Sinha and the Govt of India to take some measures to curb the accidents and save the lives. It is only possible when check fitness of vehicles and the work of four lane between Ramban to Banihal will be completed on priority basis with good and creative techniques.
