RAJOURI (KHAWAS), AUGUST 06:–First time a senior BJP leader from Budhal Assembly Segment of Rajouri district along with a team of other prominent BJP leaders of the area conducted a day-long visit to most far-flung areas, including Gundi, Pathrada & Kunala in Khawas Tehsil, as part of the party’s Public Outreach program to review progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and to get feedback from people about other developmental works in the region.
Senior BJP leader Manzoor Malik was accompanied by Nazir Mohd, & Pandit Tilak Raj Sharma.
Being a far-flung remote area with dismal government services, the people of the Gundi region raised their socio-economic concerns with the BJP leaders, including, lack of proper road connectivity, lack of electricity, water scarcity, inadequate health infrastructure, acute shortage of teaching staff at the government Girls High School Gundi.
Other major issues raised include dismal education facilities for their children in the region & in the name of health facilities, there is not even a single dispensary in the area catering to the needs of the local populace
Manzoor Naik assured inhabitants of the area that their concerns shall be put forth with the senior BJP leadership of the UT and adequate measures will be taken to address their deprivation.
He also assured them that under the Center’s policy guidance of various schemes viz. Jal Shakti Mission, Gram Jyoti Yojna the locals shall be benefited.
People appreciated the various government schemes’ benefits, including pensions for the old age, widows, & ‘specially abled’ people.
“Unprecedented development is being witnessed in recent years in remote areas but Gundi is facing problems and lacks basic amenities. Administration should educate the people/ local youth for taking the benefits of schemes promoting entrepreneurship in various local trades,” said Manzoor Naik.
Bhishan Sharma, a local leader from Gundi raised the demand for a road from Gundi Ward No 5 to Bala Raj via Pathrada and Kunala. Naik assured redressal of their genuine grievances at the earliest.
