RAJOURI APRIL 08:-In a major boost to academic research and innovation, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has been granted access to an expansive repository of scholarly journals under the Government of India’s ambitious One Nation, One Subscription (ONOS) initiative.
With this development, students and faculty members of BGSBU can now explore over 13,000 high-impact journals from leading publishers, covering a wide spectrum of academic disciplines. Access to these resources is available across the university campus through institutional IP-based authentication.
Terming the development as a “transformative step,” BGSBU Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal said the initiative would play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of research and academic output.
“Access to such a vast range of scholarly journals will significantly enhance research quality, support innovative thinking, and foster a culture of academic excellence at BGSB University,” he remarked.
“The One Nation, One Subscription initiative is a commendable move by the Government of India to democratize access to knowledge and research across the country.”
He further encouraged students and faculty to utilize the opportunity to advance their scholarly pursuits and contribute to global research efforts.
Echoing similar sentiments, Prof. M. J. Warsi, Dean of Academic Affairs, welcomed the development, stating that the access would “greatly enrich the academic framework” of the university.
“It opens new doors for our scholars to explore, collaborate, and innovate at both national and international levels,” he said.
The ONOS initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Education and implemented through the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, aims to level the playing field for academic institutions across the country by providing uniform access to quality academic content.
With this milestone, BGSBU further strengthens its commitment to fostering a research-oriented academic culture and positioning itself as a center for knowledge and innovation.
