BADC Demands Revocation of ‘illogical’ Order of ZEO Vijaypur

JAMMU AUGUST, 22 :–Jammu &Kashmir Border Area Development Conference, (JK-BADC) a registered organization working for the welfare of residents of border areas has condemned &demanded revocation of ‘illogical’ order issued by Zonal Education Office of Vijaypur, district Samba wherein the concerned ZEO has asked the Teachers/headmasters of the Primary &Middle Schools to arrange funds at their own for installation of Biometric attendance machines in government schools.
Dr Shazad Malik, Chairman of JK-BADC &former Vice Chancellor of SNU while sharing the details of the said order &subsequent reminder issued by the office of ZEO Vijaypur termed it as ‘despotic order’.
Dr Shazad informed that in Order no ZEO-V-637 dated 05 Aug/2022 & ZEO-V-680 dated 16/08/2022 issued by the ZEO, the teachers/heads of Primary &Middle Schools are directed to arrange funds for purchase of computers &Finger print scanning machines from any funds available in school &if the funds are not then the purchase shall be made from ‘own resources’ by the teacher &heads of these schools . In these order the office of ZEO Vijaypur has also threatened &warned the teachers that if purchase is not made then their salary for the month of Aug/2022 shall be withheld.
The BADC Chairperson questioned the logic of the ZEO in issuing such order for putting financial burden on innocent teacher for purchase of computers &bio metric attendance machine &for issuing warnings/threats to withhold their salary.
Dr Shazad said BADC shall oppose such harassment of the teachers &urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha &Deputy Commissioner Samba to quash &revoke this illogical order of the ZEO as under no circumstances teachers or any other government employee can be compelled to spent money from own pocket for any purchase in any government office or institution. A formal complaint with LG’s Secretariat &DC Samba has been forwarded by JKBADC in this regard.
