Ayaz Rasool Nazki, born on May 25, 1951, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, is a multifaceted Indian author, poet, painter, and educator celebrated for his contributions to Kashmiri literature and cultural heritage. Nazki’s achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards, such as the Sadiq Memorial Award in 2004, the Shiksha Ratna Award in 2003, and the Bakhshi Memorial Award in 2017, honoring his contributions to literature and the arts. He has also been conferred the Robe of Honour by Jammu University, reflecting his role as an intellectual and cultural icon in the region.
In addition to his professional accolades, Nazki holds the distinction of being the first individual from Indian-administered Kashmir to visit Sharada Peeth, an ancient and sacred site, marking his journey as one deeply rooted in both personal and cultural history.
