Rajouri February 04:–On the directions and Supervision of *Deputy Commissioner Rajouri *Vikas Kundal (IAS)*, District Hub for Empowerment of Women *(MSK Rajouri under MoWCD, Govt. of India)* organised an Awareness- cum- interaction session with Nursing and Para-medical staff at Govt Medical college Rajouri and focussed on Implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign.
During the beginning of the programme Dr. Mehmood (MS) highlighted the achievements and gave a brief overview on the overall initiatives taken by the District Administration of Rajouri under the banner of Women Empowerment in district Rajouri.
Dr. Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer, District Rajouri) while higlighting the working of the Department said that “The power relations that impede women’s attainment of healthy and fulfilling lives operate at many levels of society, from the most personal to the highly public. Achieving change requires policy and programme actions that will improve women’s access to secure livelihoods and economic resources”.
During the programme she thrusted on the various initiatives taken by the Ministry of Women & Child Development regarding numerous women centric schemes like SAKSHAM, E-SHARAM, Sukanya Samridhi Yojna,WHL 181, Special Women Police Stations, Shelter Home, Pension Schemes, National Scholarship Portal, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Hunnar, Aaasra Scheme, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, provision of prosthetic aid, National family benefit scheme, Indra Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Scholarship for Single Girl Child, Indra Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, Employment generation programmes including Tejeswani, Mumkin, JKEDI, PMEGP.
The team stressed on SAKSHAM which provides financial assistance in form of Scholarships to students for completing their Higher Education and Pensions to aggrieved Family Members. Focus was also laid on registration of eleigible benficiaries on E- SHARAM portal where they may get insurance cover of 2 lakhs, in case of any type of death, She said that “

She said that we have to remember that a new variant has already knocked our door and in such a situation self awareness and self discipline are our strength in the fight against this variant. And no doubt, only our collective strength will defeat corona.
She further awared the gathering that they have to wear mask wash hand frequently and avoid function and crowded markets.The only way to counter omicron is to keep your guard strong and take precautions. She also thanked and appreciated the efforts of MS, Dr. Mehmood Bajar and his whole team for their tireless efforts in management of COVID in the District
