    RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 19:–In a significant development for the region, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal has taken a decisive action to eliminate a major bottleneck on the crucial Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote Road at Atti.

    The initiative was taken to enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow on this vital road, which serves as a lifeline for the Pir Panjal region, connecting the border district of Rajouri to the historic Mughal Road, maintained by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

    The Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote Road is not just a transportation corridor but also the shortest route to the scenic Kashmir Valley. This road intersects with the historical Mughal Road at Bafliaz in Poonch district. It serves as a pivotal conduit for hundreds of tourists, passenger vehicles, and trucks traveling to and from the Kashmir Valley, linking Jammu and various parts of the country.

    Recognizing the importance of this road in facilitating the movement of people and goods, the Deputy Commissioner took immediate action. Following his directives, a comprehensive assessment was carried out, including peg marking and the commencement of earth-cutting work in alignment with the road’s expansion plan.

    The ongoing project aims to transform the existing road into a two-lane thoroughfare, effectively alleviating traffic congestion and substantially reducing travel time for commuters. This upgrade is poised to enhance the region’s connectivity, fostering economic growth, tourism, and greater ease of travel for all.

    The proactive stance of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal and the dedicated efforts of the concerned authorities demonstrate a commitment to enhance the infrastructure crucial for the development and prosperity of the region.     RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 19:– To expedite progress and elevate the quality of rural development in Rajouri, the District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today led a thorough review of the Rural Development Department (RDD) sector within the district.

    The DDC thoroughly evaluated the advances maded in under different developmental initiatives. These encompassed a wide spectrum of projects, including those funded through the district capex budget, PRI, BDC, DDC grants, as well as schemes such as PMAY and Awas Plus, among others.

    The main focus during was on the progress and in tendering and allotment processes. It was noted that nearly all projects have progressed to the tendering stage, and Deputy Commissioner Kundal issued strict directives to all Block Development Officers (BDOs) for the timely execution of works on-site. Additionally, instructions were conveyed to the Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (XEN REW), to improve the allotment status of various works within the capex budget.

    Underlining the urgency of expeditious progress, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes and initiatives are delivered effectively at the grassroots level.

    The review encompassed several vital aspects, including the establishment of new cooperative societies, the recovery of Non-Performing Asset (NPA) amounts from Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and a thorough assessment of the implementation of various initiatives under the “Sehkar se Samriddhi” scheme.

    The meeting provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for the formation and strengthening of new cooperative societies.     SRINAG SEPTEMBER 17:–   Displaying sheer commitment & unwavering spirit, two young and talented students of GHSS Dragmulla “Seerat Ashraf and Nida Mir” enrolled in Beauty & Wellness trade have created their own online (Instagram) pages and started earning. Seerat Ashraf and Nida Mir have achieved this remarkable feat and become a source of inspiration for other students.

    During the recent visit to the said school, the Vocational Coordinator, Ms. Mehvish Nisar delivered a guest lecture to the students about entrepreneurship and how the students can start earning from digital resources by showcasing their skills. Ms. Mehvish is also an entrepreneur and inspiration for others.

    Being inspired and motivated from Ms. Mehvish, students created their online pages namely Mehndi by Seerat and Mehndi by Nida with the help and guidance of their mentor and Vocational Trainer Ms.  Tasleema Mushtaq who helped them in practising the art more and more.

    The students’ effort has paid off as their pages are getting popular on the internet. The students are now increasingly taking bridal and non bridal bookings and earning reasonably well. Notably, Nida Mir is an orphan and residing at hostel. She is now able to help her family from the earnings.

    Vocational Education is being implemented under the umbrella of Samagra Shiksha, J&K and under the aegis of School Education Department, J&K. During a recent interview, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, J&K Sh. Deep Raj Kanethia said that Vocational Education was earlier introduced in 553 Government schools and this year its extended to 514 more Government schools and the students are being trained under 14 different trades. More than 1700 Vocational Trainer and 40 Vocational Coordinators have been engaged under the scheme. In coming years it will be extended to near about 200 additional schools. As a part of NEP 2020; exposure of Basic Vocational Skills is also being provided to the students of Classes 6th to 8th through Guest Lectures by local Artisans and craftsmen and Field visit to local industry.
    Keeping in view the gender equality both Boys & Girls are being trained in these 1067 schools to bridge the gender gap in different sectors.
