    The Model Police station at Mattan aims to improve Policing and law & order in the area. It has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness. The Model Police Station is expected to serve as a benchmark for other Police stations in the district and inspire them to upgrade their infrastructure and services.

    Overall, the visit of the DGP and the inauguration of the Model Police Station in Mattan highlight the efforts of the Police department to modernize and improve Policing in the district.     RAJOURI, OCTOBER 30:–In a commendable effort to directly address public issues, Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department, Shailendra Kumar, conducted Public Darbar here today.

    During the public darbar, the Principal Secretary conveyed commitment to addressing the pressing issues brought forward by the local community. He emphasized that the top priority of the Government is to ensure that basic facilities and services are delivered to the general public in an efficient and timely manner. He reassured the attendees that their voices had been heard, and their concerns would not go unnoticed.

    Shailendra Kumar also underscored the significance of collaboration between the government and the public. He recognized that the development process can only be successful when both Government and public work in unison. He encouraged the community to actively participate in the journey towards a better quality of life for everyone.     During the public darbar, the public raised plethora of critical issues before the Principal Secretary like road macadamization, bolstering health infrastructure, addressing staffing shortages, resolving water scarcity, initiating works on Government Degree Colleges in Doongi, Budhal and Darhal, sanctioning of Women’s College for Rajouri, addressing the deteriorating condition of roads, blacktopping road in different areas of Rajouri, constructing new roads in Harichuma and Treru Upper-B, and many more.

    Furthermore, the public also raised concerns about the need for additional bunkers, pending bunker payments, forest clearances for development projects, the establishment of a Munsiff court in Darhal, the establishment of a sub-district hospital and trauma center in Thanamandi.

    The locals also demanded upgradation of HS Chowdhury Nar to the HSS level, repair hand pumps, construct a mini secretariat building for Rajouri, complete the Badala Mang Bridge project, address the shortage of doctors and teachers in schools, expedite pending payments under MGNREGA, undertake the double lanning of the Kalakote to Siot road, construct chowks, sanction an agriculture college, and complete work on the ANS Canal project.

    This Public Darbar in Rajouri stands as a testament to the dedication of the Government to directly engaging with the public, understanding their needs, and taking tangible steps to make a positive impact on the community. The event showcased the power of collective efforts in fostering development and prosperity.

This event was orchestrated under the guidance of esteemed figure in the healthcare sector, Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu

    The health Mela bore witness to the enthusiastic participation of local residents and notable personalities who availed themselves of a diverse array of health services. These services encompassed medical and surgical ENT check-ups, screening for non-communicable diseases (NCD) and programs, enlightening sessions on the merits of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, TB Mukt Panchayat initiatives, anaemia testing and treatment, teleconsultations, vaccinations, NVBDCP initiatives, health hygiene guidance, and dental health check-ups. It is worth noting that all services were rendered free of charge, underscoring the organizers’ commitment to the community’s well-being.

    RAJOURI, OCTOBER 29:–Following violation of 2021 truce agreement by the Pakistan Army in Arnia village in R S Pura sector along the International border in Jammu division, tension is brewing among the residents of border villages in Rajouri & Poonch districts.
    “Our Deeing-Kalal Panchayat is situated along the Line of Control (LoC) and our people have suffered a lot during heavy shelling by Pakistan Army in the past (before 2021). The government has constructed sufficient individual/community bunkers in our area for the security of the people in case of any exigency,” said Sarpanch, Ramesh Choudhary.
    He added that he has already sent a proposal for the construction of 276 more individual bunkers in his Panchayat.
    Border dwellers have taken a sigh of relief after the construction of bunkers in the villages situated within a range of 5 kilometers from LoC in both the border districts of Rajouri & Poonch.
    Implementation of a renewed ceasefire along IB & LoC in J&K announced by India & Pakistan has brought much relief to the border people and has been living in peace since then.
    On February 25, 2021, Pakistan & India entered an agreement aimed at strictly adhering to all ceasefire agreements along the LoC in J&K, as well as other sectors
    No official direction has yet been issued for the cleaning of the bunkers in Rajouri district but as per reports, the border dwellers on their own have started a process to make these bankers usable.
    Meanwhile, following heavy shelling by Pakistani Rangers on Thursday in Arnia area, the Government of UT of J&K on Friday directed to ensure 24X7 working of all the Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Primary Health Centers (PHCs) situated in the border areas.
    As per the direction, no Medical/Para-medical staff will leave the station without permission of respective Deputy Commissioner.
    All the ambulances have been asked to remain in a state of readiness besides adequate arrangement of Blood units in coordination with respective mother Blood Banks.
    The directions were issued to the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of Jammu/ Rajouri/Poonch/Kathua & Samba districts by the Director Health Services ,Jammu vide his order No.DHSJ/Adm/11048-61 dt 28/10/2023.
    The directions read: “All border PHC/CHCs will function 24X7 with the presence of Medical & Paramedical staff. All ambulances shall be in a state of readiness & filled with sufficient patrol in advance. Drivers contact shall be shared with Assistant Director (schemes)”.
    Order further read: “Adequate arrangement of blood units in coordination with mother blood banks while ensuring the availability of adequate emergency medicines/equipment in coordination with Controller of Stores (health) Jammu.
    Director Health Services also directed all these CMOs to report to the Assistant Director (Schemes), Directorate of Health Services Jammu on a daily basis.

    OCTOBER 29:–  It is the time for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to dare and call spade a spade as the dual-face politics of leaders of almost all the political outfits especially the ones who feel elated in calling themselves ‘guardians’ of Kashmir although whatever stand they take in J&K turns damp squib when they represent the UT before the centre as they are bound to bow before their undeclared ‘Masters’ running the country from Indian Capital State.

    It is a sodden state of affairs that not one, not two but so many political parties existing in J&K with same aim and motives to befool the people by promising moon and stars on the issues of common interests and daily amenities but soon after reaching Delhi they change colours exactly like a chameleon by becoming yes men or women of the centre forgetting all promises made with the people, whom they represent in the centre.

    It is annoying that political parties active in J&K accuse each other of speaking one language in the UT and the other while in Delhi because unfortunately no party is wrong in saying this because the political leadership in J&K is hypocrite and can stoop to any level for satiating its interests no matter how far the people suffer and face hardships.

    It is a known fact that the political leadership in Kashmir and also in Jammu has the first and foremost duty to fulfill the local aspirations but their deeds and goals are ‘weird’ especially in the last few years, when the political class in J&K feels comfortable in discussing the economic crisis of neighbouring countries and the sky rocketing fuel prices and inflation when the people in their own Union Territory are facing umpteen number of crises whether it is Valley, Chenab Basin or twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.

    There were number of issues which the common man in Jammu and Kashmir has been confronting starting from inflation, rising fuel prices, unemployment, inflated electricity bills especially after the installation of so-called smart meters, allegedly ‘unauthorized’ toll plazas, statehood, polls, and inhuman anti-encroachment drives to so many others but the apathetic political class from both the regions has no time to resolve these issues as it is more interested in demanding resumption of talks with the neighbouring country, etc. It is first and foremost duty of the local leadership in J&K to ensure that the people are getting the basic amenities and civic infra including Roti, Kapda Aur Makaan but except maligning other political parties and discussing issues which have no concern with J&K, the parties are doing nothing substantial which could prove helpful to the population. It is a great disservice to the people of the Union Territory and therefore people should take a note of this and jog the memory of these leaders reminding them of their duties. Irrespective of shades and colours of the political outfits in J&K, the leadership has no guts to ask for the rights of the people when in Delhi as on many occasions in the recent past the people have themselves protested to highlight their issues with the political parties shunning their responsibility to stand shoulder to shoulder with them to mount pressure on the government. Even the political party in power is proving fruitless in resolving the issues of the people of the UT and as a result has lost its credibility leading to its leadership allegedly asking centre to defer the proposed ULB polls in the Union Territory.

    The weak and meek political class in J&K is nothing but a bad omen for the people of J&K as it is one of the main reasons behind the sufferings of the people because the local political parties have the solemn duty to act as the bridge between a state/UT and the centre to plug in the gaps but in case of J&K, the political parties seem to be spineless and therefore start speaking the language of centre as and when it was expected that they should raise voice of common man in J&K.

    The number of protests and controversies which J&K saw in recent past shows the real bad picture of the region and it is time for the political parties to raise to the occasion and start projecting the genuine demands of the people before the centre and mount pressure so that two way communication between people of J&K and the centre begins as under present circumstances there is one way governance with LG Manoj Sinha’s administration carrying out things as directed by the centre as the voice of aboriginals seems to have been muzzled to a large extent. There is no scope for the people to thrive unless and until the local political leadership will shun the hypocrisy and will stand by the population like in the other states demanding welfare and rights of the people as per their aspirations and not on the sweet will of the centre.

    KISHTWAR OCTOBER 29:–The District Administration Kishtwar, led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, in collaboration with the Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA), Sub Divisional Administration Chhatroo, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports, District Youth Service and Sports Department Kishtwar today successfully organized a snow skiing event under the close supervision of SDM Chatroo, Shokat Hayat Matoo JKAS at Sinthan Area of Sub Division Chatroo,District Kishtwar.

    This thrilling event witnessed the active participation of more than 50 skilled skiers, including enthusiastic trainees from the Jawahar Institute of Monitoring and Winter Sports. Notably, a significant portion of the participants were girls, underscoring the growing interest and participation of women in winter sports.

    The event was inaugurated by SDM Showkat Hayat Matoo in presence of Tehsildar Suman ji Sharma, SHO Sandeep Kumar Parihar besides others dignitaries, officers and officials of KDA, Jawahar institute of Mountaineering and Winter sports besides girl participants.

    The primary objective of this event was to promote adventure tourism and winter sports in the picturesque region of Kishtwar. With its snow-clad landscapes and breathtaking vistas, Chatroo Sinthan area of Kishtwar has immense potential to become a hub for winter sports and adventure enthusiasts. This event aimed to not only showcase the natural beauty of the region but also encourage local and national talent to explore and excel in snow skiing.

    Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Kishtwar is a hidden gem with enormous potential for adventure tourism and winter sports.
