    RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12:– Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, aiming to ensure clean drinking water access to rural communities.

    During the meeting, the DC emphasized the crucial aspects of high-quality work, timely project completion, and effective supervision to achieve the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The discussion highlighted significant advancements in Rajouri, with 298 JJM schemes having 660 components with estimated cost of Rs 1974.77 cr have been sanctioned in the district.

    Regarding component-wise status of the implementation of the JJM works, it was informed that out of 205 borewells, the work on 196 borewells is completed. As for the dugwells, out of 24, work on 2 is completed, while the rest are in progress. Additionally, out of 107 rapid sand filtration plants, work on 99 has been initiated. Furthermore, under Overhead Tanks (OHTs), out of 9, 5 have been completed.

    To accelerate the implementation of these schemes, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to adopt a results-driven approach, adhering to strict timelines. Through focused efforts and dedicated work, the mission is rapidly transforming into a reality, promising a healthier and happier life for the residents of the region.

    For the schemes where the work has not been started yet, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to promptly address issues hindering the initiation of work on such schemes. Ensuring a swift resolution, he emphasized the need for immediate action to kickstart the projects at the earliest.

    The DC emphasized the need for a holistic approach towards water management, emphasizing that it is not just about providing access to clean drinking water but also about preserving and sustainably utilizing these vital resources.

    This meeting was a testament to the commitment of the District Administration to implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission effectively, ensuring that rural areas have access to a basic necessity – clean drinking water.

    Overall the meeting was a constructive platform for officers to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and find solutions to the challenges facing the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Deputy Commissioner directed them to continue working with dedication and commitment to achieve the mission’s objectives.

    RAJOURI FEBRUARY 11:–In a major breakthrough, Police Station Sundarbani of District Rajouri has been accredited with ISO Certification for achieving stipulated parameters in policing.

    Notably, the Quality Management System of Police Station, Sundarbani of District Rajouri has been assessed and conforming to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) Certification.

    The scope for which this Police Station has been registered as ISO 9001:2015 certified is “Prevention and Investigation of Crimes and Maintenance of Law & Order under the jurisdiction of Sundarbani Police Station”.

    This ISO certification has been issued based on the mode of police records maintainence, cleanliness, interiors, reception office, CCTV camera installation, control room, public waiting room with basic amenities, cyber crime & women help desks.

    Sundarbani Police had initiated the process of certification by upgrading the existing and adding additional elements with the sole objective to improve the quality of public service and to make the police station more people-friendly and accessible.

    To meet the specified parameters, the police team has streamlined the process of character/passport verification and the system of filing complaints and record keeping. The disposal of complaints have been made time bound.

    This Police Station has been widely praised for its effective crime prevention activities, criminal investigation, law & order, prevention and detection of drug abuse besides other measures for its “quick, better and responsive” services.

    Senior formations of J&K Police congratulated the officers & officials of PS Sundarbani for achieving this feat and also impressed upon other Police Stations to improve their working, use technology to ease public hardships and meet the already laid down standards to achieve ISO certification in near future so that the best could be delivered to public.

    RAJOURI FEBRUARY 11:–Under the aegis of “Operation Sanjeevani” Jammu and Kashmir police in District Rajouri arrested two youth following  recovering of consignment of banned drugs/tablets from their possession yesterday.

    A team of police headed by SHO Rajouri intercepted Eijaz Wanitwo youth at Abdullah Bridge; Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri and recovered 60 strips of banned drug (tramadol/ tependadole) from their possession following which duo have been arrested.

    The duo accused persons have been identified as Shahbaz Ahmed S/O Niaz Ahmed & Yasir Lone S/O Mohd Shafi; both Residents of Ward No.2,Rajouri.

    Notably, a formal criminal case under FIR No. 54/2024 U/S 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.

    Operation Sanjeevani aims at digging both Forward & Backward linkages of NDPS recovery during the investigation.

    Police in Rajouri district has arrested dozens of narcotic peddlers in last couple of months as they were found involved in peddling of narcotics and banned drugs with recovery have been made from their possession.

    Under zero tolerance policy towards drugs abuse, a number of notorious drug peddlers have also been detained under PIT NDPS Act in the district.

    JAMMU FEBRUARY 11:–An information was received at PS Akhnoor regarding one notorious criminal namely Razak Ahmed @ Kaka S/o Ghulam Mohd R/o Kandi Tehsil Maira Mandrian District Jammu who was evading his arrests in multiple cases.

    On this special police teams of PS Akhnoor led by *Sho Akhnoor Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma* raided at the suspected place and arrested the notorious criminal.

    It is pertinent to mention that a warrant under PITNDPS vide order No. 16 of 2024 dated 09.02.2024 under section 3 of prevention of illicit traffic in narcotics drugs and psychotropic substance act was also issued against the accused by Divisional commissioner Jammu after receiving the dossier from district police against the accused.

    The said accused was habitual of indulging in criminal activities and there were indulge in various NDPS Act cases in which accused was involved. Details of the cases are as under :-

    (1) Case FIR No. 150/2020 U/s 08/20/29 NDPS Act of P/S Akhnoor(2) Case FIR No 320/2023 U/s 8/20/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act of P/s Akhnoor (3) DD No.32 dated 27.01.2024 P/s Akhnoor.

    Finally today the warrant was executed and the accused was sent to District Jail Kathua

    روزانہ درجنوں ماں باپ  ان کے سامنے آ کر روتے بلکتے اور اپنے ان ظالم بچوں سے بچنے کے لیے ان سے فریاد کرتے ۔ روزانہ منظر عام پر نہ آنے والے بہت سے دکھی واقعات اولاد اور والدین کے درمیان ہین جنہیں چند لوگ ہی جانتے ہیں ۔ ماں باپ کے ساتھ مار پیٹ ان سے پیسے چھیننے اور انہیں گھر سے نکال دیتے ہیں ۔ ان کی دہشت سے کچھ والد گھر سے بستر لے کر راجوری ہسپتال میں رات گزارتے ہیں۔

     مدثر چودھری کی اس کاروائی سے کتنے لوگوں کی جان بچ گئی ہے اس کا اعدادوشمار تو ہمارے پاس نہیں ہے کتنے نشہ چھوڑ دیں گے کتنے نشہ کا کاروبار چھوڑ دیں گے اس کا اندازہ نہیں لگایا جا سکتا ۔ کتنی بچیاں واپس ان کے گھر آباد ہوئیں ۔ لیکن انہوں نے جس کرسی پر بیٹھ کر اپنے فرض منصبی سے انصاف کرتے ہوئے ایک کوشش کی ہے وہ قابل تعریف ہے وہ جرت مند ہونے کا ثبوت ہے وہ اپنے علاقہ کے لوگوں کے تعین ہمدردی کا جذبہ ہے۔ وہ اپنی وردی و فرائض کو سرانجام دینے کی ایک عملی کڑی تھی ۔ وہ سماج میں ایک اہم پیغام اور پیشرفت تھی جسے صرف راجوری ہی نہیں بلکہ پوری ریاست کے لوگوں نے دیکھا ہے کہ کس قدر انہوں نے نشہ کے خلاف اعلان جنگ کیا اور اس میں بہت حد تک کامیابی حاصل کی ۔ وہ گہرے نقوش چھوڑ گئے۔ جس کے لیے ہمیشہ ہمیں اپنا تعاون نشہ کے مخالف قانون نافذ کرنے والے ادارے کے ساتھ رکھنا لازمی ہے۔

    Accompanied by SSP Poonch JKPS Yougal Kumar Manhas SDPO MENDHAR JKPS Bopinder Kumar . DIG RP Range conducted a casual inspection as well as overall security review of the SDPO Office and Police Station Mendhar

    The purpose of the visit was to assess the operational readiness and overall functioning of the Sub-division Mendhar.

    During the inspection, Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS inspected MHC Room, Malkhana, Havalat, CCTNS Lab, Jawan Barracks, Mess, Kote, functioning of CCTVs and also interacted with Officer/officials of Police Station Mendhar and Officers of CAPF deployed in Sub-division Mendhar and to provide necessary directions. He emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and adherence to procedures while discharging duties.

    Stress was given to maintain the cleanliness of the Police Station and other surrounding area. SDPO and SHO Police Station were directed to maintain extra vigil in their area of responsibility in view of past history of infiltration and the recent terrorists attacks.

    Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS also briefed the nafri to strengthen the intelligence at grass root level besides stress was to put in more efforts to track down the active terrorists in the area. SDPO Mendhar was directed to provide every possible logistics support to the Police personnel/CAPF Coys deployed in the subdivision, required for performing duties in order to counter the terrorist activities in the area. He also directed to establish accountability measures to ensure compliance with security procedures.

    He also directed the officers for timely redressal of public grievances, special focus be given towards senior citizens and female complainants. He further directed that complaints of females complainant should be dealt by women staff of Police Station. Special attention be given on accident cases, Land dispute, kidnapping etc. He also directed and stressed for strengthening of Beat system of Police Station.

    RAJOURI/NEW DELHI FEB 09:–The World Defence Show (WDS)- 2024, currently being held in Riyadh, witnessed representation by three women officers from Army, Navy, & Air Force, a testament to Prime Minister Modi led government’s vision of leveraging ‘Nari Shakti’ across domains.
    Three women officers who represented the Indian Armed Forces in the various seminars of the WDS-2024, especially in the International Women in Defence themed events, include Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, Colonel Ponung Doming, and Lieutenant Commander Annu Prakash.
    On Wednesday Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, a fighter pilot from the IAF took centre stage as a panellist at the seminar titled ‘International Women in Defence – Investing in an Inclusive Future’, hosted by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud.
    “The Squadron Leader shared her inspiring journey of breaking barriers and
    soaring through the skies, thus becoming a part of the revered fighter pilot club in India,” said MoD.

    “Colonel Ponung Doming from the Indian Army is the first woman officer to command the world’s highest Border Task Force located above 15,000 feet in the Northern sector with multiple firsts to her credit in over 20 years of service,” said MoD.
    Col Ponung has been at the forefront of many challenging assignments being an Engineering officer.
    Lieutenant Commander Annu Prakash of the Indian Navy brought her expertise in maritime security and operations to the forefront.
    “Her participation underscored the crucial role women play in safeguarding India’s vast coastline and ensuring regional stability & her presence in WDS 2024 helped in fostering stronger ties and collaboration between India and other nations in the maritime domain,”.
    The participation of these three exceptional women officers at the WDS 2024 served as a testament to the growing role of Indian women in the defence landscape.
    “ The trio will deliver an inspirational talk about their remarkable journey at International Indian School, Riyadh on February 08, 2024, to about 600 school children from various schools,” said MoD.
    The event will serve as a platform in showcasing the diverse talents and leadership skills of Indian women in uniform, inspiring future generations to follow their dreams and cover new grounds.
    The WDS 2024, which commenced on February 4, 2024, will culminate on February 8, 2024.
