Rajouri February 09:– Separate status for Pir Panjal range demanded by Adv Masood Choudhary
He urged all the political leaders of Peer Panjal to get united and take a lesson from the people, political leaders and civil society members of Ladakh.He welcomed the decision of Governor to give Ladakh the status of a separate division and expressed pain over the neglect of Peer Panjal. “The decision of giving a separate division status should have been collectively taken for Pir Panjal regions too along with Ladakh if it was meant for the greater good of people as people of Peer Panjal are fighting for the same from the last many years ,’’ he said .
The people of Pir Panjal region suffered a lot in Indo Pak war and is the most neglected and backward region of jandk and he urged upon Governor Administration to take this decision at the earliest as this region have a vast area and deserve Division status. Masood chowdhary also added that discrimination with Pir Panjal region will not be tolerated these people are peace loving and living peacefully and Governor Administration is forcing people to agitate .
Ladakh is a far-flung area and already had a hill development council at a place in Leh and Kargil and now making it a separate division is a big deal and he whole heartedly welcomed it.
However, he wished that the same decision would have been taken for pir panjal regions as well keeping in view the problems of the region.
“The Pir Panjal areas are also backward and underdeveloped with a huge population so pir panjal areas should also be given the status of a separate division”,he said.
Masood chowdhary also urged upon the political workers to force their leaders for the same demand and get united under one banner for this demand leaving all their differences aside.

While congratulating the people of Ladakh region and honourable governor for giving divisional status to Ladakh, Dr. Shazad Malik, the renowned educationist from Poonch today reiterated his earlier demand of special status for Rajouri and Poonch districts. Dr. Shazad said it is a welcome step hat understanding the pain of the people of Ladakh region the governor administration gave the region a divisional status similarly people of Rajouri and Poonch for very long demanding for either divisional status or autonomous Pir Panchal council for equi- distribution of resources. He said it is unfortunate that for over 70 years, the ruling political parties did not pay any heed towards the developmental needs of the people of these two districts and the roads of these districts reveal everything. Dr. Shazad said people of Rajouri and Poonch are peace loving people and don’t want to come on roads for their demands therefore it is requested to the state government and the union government to consider this genuine demand of the people of the Pir panchal area and do the needful.

He said government of Jammu & Kashmir has carved out the third division of the state by granting Divisional status to Ladakh. This is , of course a genuine decision keeping in view the tough topography, difficult life conditions and the geographical inaccessibilities. Ladakh has survived through the hardest of its times right since the remote past. Granting its due right is quite in the fitness of justice . The wakeful minds must appreciate this gift to Ladakh.
He said the state has other more difficult and suffering topographies and populace equalling in the pains and agonies right since the advent of independence. Pirpanjal region comes first next to Ladakh. The unfortunate region has served a battle ground for all the indo- pak battles, has offered to but cut to pieces with a collosal loss of men and material right since the time of partiton . The long bout of disturbance has squeezed whatever little was left in the name of life in it.
A war battered region , as it is, there must be no doubt in the fact that this region deserved an equal sympathy and healing touch.
He said Ignoring the region from its right of a divisional status has dismayed its denizens and left them awe- struck.
Shadab said that the Government must announce Pirpanjal as the fourth region of the state to keep the scale of justice even.

Rajouri: Nadeem Ahmed Mir State Secretary Pardesh Youth Congress urged the all political leaders of Chenab Valley and Peer Panjal to be united and take a lesson from people of Ladakh and political leaders and civil society members and welcomed the decision of Governor to give Ladakh the status of a separate division and expressed pain over the neglect of Peer Panjal. “The decision of giving a separate division status should have been collectively taken for Chenab valley and Pir Panchal regions too along with Ladakh if it was meant for the greater good of people as people of Peer Panjal are fighting for the same from the last many years ,’’ Mir said .
He said Ladakh is a far-flung area and already had a hill development council at a place in Leh and Kargil and now making it a separate division is a big deal and he wholeheartedly welcomes it and same formula shall be applied for chenab and Peer panjal .
However, he wished that the same decision was taken for the other two regions as well keeping in the view the problems and area .
