    It is an appreciated move by the new District Magistrate Rajouri as it will enhance tourism in the area and it will also boost the business of the local people who have been suffering huge economical loss due to closing of hot spring water during Covid 19 pandemic lock down period they added.

    Rajouri January 23: –After ten months of restrictions due to Corona virus pandemic, District Magistrate, Rajesh Kumar Shavan has removed all restrictions imposed on entry of public at the hot water spring, located at village Tatta Pani of tehsil Kalakote.

    According to an order by the District Magistrate, the Chief Executive Officer, Rajouri Development Authority, Rajouri has to ensure that COVID-19 protocol/SOP strictly adhered by the visitors in terms of sanitizers, masks, social distancing etc.

    He has been further directed not to allow more than two persons at a time near the spring and to regulate the movement of visitors.

    “This is further subject to the condition that the developmental work may not be effected and Chief Executive Officer, Rajouri Development Authority, Rajouri may put a temporary stoppage in the interest of work at his own level”, reads the order.

    Poonch January 23:– A motivational speech on career avenues in Police Force was delivered by S. Randhir Singh, SSP, Commandant IRP 19 Bn Kathua . He motivated cadets to join Forces and shared his experience with cadets. The ups and downs one face during his struggle days. He took various questions of cadets to clear their mind how to join Police Force . Various competitions was also being organised under the supervision of PI staff Sub Ashok Kumar, Hav. Jasmat Singh Randhawa , Hav. Arul mani. Various competition was organised to check mental as well as physical standards of cadets like 2.4 KM long race for SD and 1.6 KM long race for SW and JD cadets others events includes painting competition, Obstacle training competition and Firing competition.
    Various lectures on civil defense and disaster management was given by Disaster management team they taught cadets practically how to tackle such situations . The overall training of cadets includes their map reading class, weapon training class, FC BC class and clases on health and hygiene . Cadets are giving their best during this 5 day camp. ANOs, CTOs and civil staff are also working round the clock to insure overall development of Cadets .

    Shopian, January 23, KNT: Fellow Muslim villagers of a deceased local Pandit amid massive snowfall travelled by foot miles together to shoulder the dead body to its final destination in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

    Sources told News Agency Kashmir news Trust that 60 year old Kashmir Pandit Bhaskar Nath, who was getting treatment at SKIMS Srinagar died of kidney failure today.

    The dead body was supposed to be taken to the native Pargochi village of Shopian in an ambulance. However, due to massive snowfall, the ambulance got stuck at a location in Shopian that was 10 kilometers away from the Pargochi village.

    “The ambulance driver called one of the family members on phone who informed the local Muslims. The local Muslims amid inclement weather walked on foot and brought the dead body on their shoulders. Due to snowfall, the road was not motorable so we brought the dead body to Pargochi village on our shoulders,” said a local Muslim Fayaz Ahmed to KNT.

    The locals made all arrangements and amid snowfall the deceased local Pandit was cremated as per the Hindu rituals.

    The deceased is survived by a son and 2 daughters. He stayed back when majority of the Kashmiri Pandits migrated in 1990’s after the eruption of freedom movement in Kashmir.

    “We are overwhelmed and can’t express my love and affection for my local Muslim brothers,” said one of the relatives of deceased Bhaskar Nath.

    This is not an isolated incident. Muslims in Kashmir Valley always shared grief of local Pandits and set examples of brotherhood off and on. (KNT)

    Rajouri, January 23: – Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Saturday flagged off a batch of girls contingent for a 15 day snow skiing course being hosted by the Directorate of Youth services and Sports at Gulmarg.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohd Yousaf Lone and other Officers/ Officials of Department of Youth Services and Sports Rajouri were present on the occasion.

    A total of 10 girls students will participate in the Snow Skiing course at Gulmarg.The students were selected by the Department of youth services and sports and the girl’s students belonged to different zones of the district.

    “During this 15-day training the participating students will be trained in basic, intermediate and advanced courses of Snow skiing,” the DYSSO Informed.

    It was informed that food, lodging, equipment, transportation, training, coaching, lift charges, heating arrangements and other facilities are being provided free of cost to the participants.

    The Deputy Commissioner while interacting advised them to wear warm clothes, face mask and follow all the SoPs related to COIVID-19.

    Rajouri January 23 :–Block Development Office (BDO) office Manjakote has become epicentre of corruption over last few months and there is complete nexus between GRS, VLWS, Serpanches and BDO due to which common people is unable to derive benefits of centrally sponsored schemes.

    Despite of rampant corruption,the anti corruption agencies haven’t still taken the cognizance of matter which makes it more clear that there is institutionalized protection to this filthy nexus.

    People also allege that BDO and some officials deliberately deleted voters name in recently concluded DDC elections to favours particular party and candidate in DDC election .

    There is no apparent development on ground,development is only present on fine page of official documents.The concerned VLWs and GRS hardly visit any village allocated to them.

    No proper timing of officials in the block development office Manjakote and maximum officials absent from duty during office hour told GNS ONLINE one of the resident Shahid Shabir ..

    When GNS ONLINE contacted to BDO office Manjakote some officials told that all the allegations levelled by residents are baseless and they denied all the allegation of corruption and also said that the overall functioning of the said office is very smooth as compared to other Block offices.

    Resident requested to DDC Rajouri Rajesh K Shavan to look into the matter personally and there is need a surprise visit in the office of BDO office Manjakote.

    Rajouri January 22 :– It is very shocking to know that Ghulam Nabi Shahbaz Rajourvi has left this mortal world today shortly after the heavenly journey of his younger brother late Fida Rajourvi.

    Shahbaz Rajourvi was also a Kashmiri writer

    Shahbaz Rajourivi was a great teacher, scholar, writer , a multi lingual poet and above all a great human being , Shahbaz Rajourvi has remained a guide, mentor and inspiration to hundreds of his students and admirers.

    Presonally, I owe a major part of my learning and experience to Shahbaz Rajourvi said M Iqbal Shawl.

    Although Shahbaz sir was my teacher but he was gratious enough to hold my as his friend disciple all through his life Shawl added.

    With his departure a complete era of struggle for knowledge, wisdom and persuit for excellence has come to a close.

    Rajouri has lost one of our ideals. May Allah grant him the highest station in jannah for all the good he has done for the society and the humanity.

    Rajouri January 22 :–The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today convened a joint meeting of the Revenue Officers and forest officers to take first hand appraisal of the working of the departments.

    The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner KOTRANKA, Surinder Mohan Shram, ASP, Liaqat Choudhary, DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh, DFO Nowshera, Suresh Panda, DFO Social Forestry, Rakesh Saraf, Wildlife Warden, Mushtaq Choudhary and all the tehsildars .

    During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the panchayats Forest right committees and said that a number of complaints have been pouring in on a daily basis about the mismanagement during the constitution of the committees. The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Panchayat Officer to serve notice and republish the committees and seek the objection at the earliest, so that the confidence of the public can be restored.

    He also directed that ADC/ SDMs should monitor the constitution of forest right committees in their respective jurisdiction.

    The Deputy Commissioner also instructed Forest officers to carry out institutional plantation drive on the aw footing. They have also been directed to devise a District specific app on the pattern of paredhar to resolve the grievances related to the forest issues.

    The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Tehsildars and Revenue officers to remove illegal encroachments on the forest lands and submit a weekly report in this matter and the Tehsildars will expunge the illegal entries on Forest land, state lands and shamlats in their respective jurisdiction.

    The Deputy Commissioner also directed the tehsildars to submit weekly reports about the anti-encroachment drives and the chunk of land retrieved. He also instructed them to carry out demolish drives where required for retrieval of the state/shamlat lands.

    The Deputy Commissioner during the meeting said that the progress on the Ayushman Bharat is not up to the mark; and directed the Tehsildars to activate the Village level Committees for 100 percent Registration.

    The Tehsildars have been instructed to convene a joint meeting of PRIs, BDOs, VLWS and patwaris for 100 percent registration of PMAY cases also.

    The ADC kotranka has been directed to identify a suitable land for GDC Kotranka and submit the revenue papers within two days.
