Sunderbani, Mar 18: The Revenue Department Sunderbani is in the news for wrong reasons again. This time an elderly man has accused Patwari of resorting to corrupt practices. The Patwari allegedly took bribe of Rs 50,000 from an elderly person for issuance of some revenue documents which were required for executing sale deed in connection with the purchase of land.
The victim, Parmanand ,70, told that he had purchased a piece of land measuring 10 marlas from a person but to execute a sale deed three revenue decrements were required.
“I approached the concerned Patwari for getting required documents including map, Khasra Girdawari and Jamabani for further process but Patwari didn’t cooperate and continued to harass me by giving petty excuses for five months. After getting fed up with his torture, I yielded before him and he demanded Rs 50,000 for these documents, which I paid to him but despite giving him the money he didn’t provide the correct documents,” he alleged.
Parmanand said, “When I asked him to provide the correct documents, the Patwari refused to do so and asked me to do whatever I want.”
He alleged that there is a nexus between agents and the revenue officials, who force the people to pay bribe for any official work.
When Early Times contacted the Patwari, he denied allegations.
DDC Rajouri, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, said that he would initiate an inquiry in this matter and strict action will be taken if the Patwari is found guilty.

Rajouri,March,18:In order to ensure the strict enforcement of CrPC 144 imposed in the district in view of the spread of CoronaVirus infection across the globe,the Tehsildar Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan along with Station House Officer Rajouri Sameer Jeelani and on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of several areas of the district including Rajouri town,Panja Chowk,Jawahar Nagar,Kotedhera,Doongi etc.

The officers during the tour took stock of the overall situation of the areas to know whether the restrictions imposed under CrPC 144 are properly followed or not.They also ordered the shutdown of some hotels,restaurants and other business establishments with heavy rush which were found still open after the imposition of the restrictions.

The officers also interacted with the public and made them aware of the cause of the spread of CoronaVirus infection and the measures which can be applied to prevent the infection.They appealed them to avoid social gathering as the virus spreads very fast through droplets infection.They also urged upon them to follow the preventive measures like wearing of face masks,avoiding crowded places,cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces etc.

They told the public that the restrictions have been imposed by the district administration with the sole aim of ensuring welfare of the general public and they need not to panic.They said that district administration cannot alone fight with this deadly virus and the active cooperation from the general public is a must in this regard.
