    Mehndar March 30 :- Employees deputed in the ISM dispensary in village Pathanateer of sub division Mehndar were also locked in this period, where the people fighting with COVID-19. In this crucial situation of the state as well as country are lockdown and the employees of the said dispensary were absent from the day due to which the people of the area lost basic medical facilities.

    The local people urge upon to the district administration Poonch to immediately impose severe penalties against the absent employees and demanded that the employee should be transfer from here to other places and deputed such workers who present on duty and People should get basic medical care and also enquire about the whole medicines which were provided in the record.

    District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh* today said that District is fully equipped with all the essential commodities required to tackle and combat the COVID-19. 
    Mr. Sheikh said that District has established 35 Quarantine Centres across the District and separate management committees comprising of officers/officials, are assigned with the job to manage all affairs of the Quarantine Centres. *He added that as on date, around 73 persons* are Institutional Quarantined, in various Quarantine Centres Viz. Associated Hospital, Govt. PG College Rajouri Hostels (02), Pahari Hostel, Darul-Aloom Kheora etc and all the persons have been kept in congenial environment and *around 535 are in Home Quarantine*. 
    Brand new complete bedding, Hygienic Food, Separate daily usable items (kits)* have been provided to all the persons kept in quarantines. He further reiterated that sufficient funds have been provided by the Govt. and are available to meet out all the requirements and making arrangements, during this tough time. He also informed that, people of the District are also generously contributing in the District Rajouri Disaster Relief fund, for which process was initiated just one day ago. 
    He assured that, *all types of arrangements shall be made to tackle any contingency due to wake of COVID-19,* in the District and administration is fully prepared for the same along with men and machinery. He also informed that 3770 migrant Labourers, destitute, stranded passengers, mentally challenged persons, slum dwellers etc have been identified, to whom ration is being distributed by the designated committees.  
    
    Being surprised to the statement issued by ADC Koteranka, DDC said that, ADC koteranka is not authorized spokesperson of the administration and *his statement is in his personal capacity and deplorable*, which may be treated as null and void. He further said that disciplinary action shall be taken, against those officers, who are at the helm of affairs and takes the things casually during this pandemic COVID-19.  
    DDC also appealed the public, not to hide their travel history and extend cooperation to the *Village level and Tehsil level committees* constituted for the tracing and locating the persons who have foreign travel history or outside UT travel history, so that proper treatment could be provided. He said that people should refrain themselves from rumour mongers and let the Health department to take its task, while deciding/following the protocol to deal with the COVID-19.

    Jammu, 30/March/2020: Demanding restoration of High Speed Mobile Internet services in Jammu and Kashmir, former Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath University and native of Poonch, Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik have filed a petition with National Human Rights Commission of India.
    In his 6 pages long petition, the former VC has arrayed Union Home Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, J & K Union Territory and Chief General Manager, BSNL J and K Circle as party respondents to the plea.
    In his submission before the NHRC, he has sought direction for the 1st two respondents for restoration of high speed mobile internet facility in the J & K UT and for also urged the NHRC to further direct the government owned telecom Company, BSNL for publicize its policy in giving new landline internet facility to the People and alleged that there is lack of transparency in BSNL in installing connections as only high profile and people having high approach are provided connections by the BSNL and ordinary people are made to wait for months together.
    While giving further details about his plea, Dr Shazad informed that due to recent lockdown of 21 days as announced by the Prime Minister in the wake of Corono Virus pandemic, the people of whole India including Jammu and Kashmir are following all instructions and guidelines issued by the government of India and local administration to save themselves and the mankind and have confined themselves maintain social distancing but the situation in other parts of the country and here in J & K is different because in other states of India, the students, teachers, medical professional, the religious preachers taking the benefit of high speed Internet have started e-classes and formed social groups online and spreading useful information with each other.
    Moreover in absence of High speed internet facility in the J & K UT, the medical professionals are worst sufferers as they are not even able to have access to the website and applications(apps) of World Health Organization, Ministry of Health, government of India and other local websites related to UT government or districts’ administration.
    Due to lockdown people are not able to move out and unfortunately thet are not even able to use banking apps due to poor internet speed. He said even the religious congregation are banned , the religious Yatras are restricted like holy Sri Vaishno Devi Yatra therefore the people are in anxiety and depressed thus he has made an appeal to the NHRC to further direct the respondents to restore the high speed mobile internet as telecom services are covered under essential services. In the petition, he has also suggested that instead of taking Police Zones of Kashmir and Jammu as units to access the security situation viz a viz for restoration of 4-G internet speed, the authorities may try districts and areas as units to access and then in phase manner they may restore the High speed Mobile internet in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sanjay Singh Sandhu in a statement issued here today, urged upon the J&K administration to restore 4G internet services in Union Territory expeditiously for ensuring work from home slogan, better educational facilities to students and helping the people to stay indore which will help the authorities to cope up with the unwarranted situation arising across the globe.

    Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu appealed to the people of the Union Territory to take all precautionary measures to stop spreading of Covid-19 and also appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration during this dreadful situation which is going worst day by day world wide.

    Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu entreaty the public to feed stray animals which will be a huge contribution towards the human value in this awful situation.

    Ch. Sanjay Singh Sandhu also hails the dedication shown by the medical staff including doctors, staff nurses and other paramedic staff, belt forces including J&K Police, Municipality and essential supply suppliers for standing still for protecting the people throughout the nation in all necessary manner and urged upon the center administration to provide adequate essential equipments to them for a better fight against Covid-19.

    Srinagar, Mar 28: In wake of COVID-19 outbreak across J&K, management of Muslim Welfare Society (MWS) Bemina on Friday handed over 10 lac rupee cheque to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar for getting necessary medical equipments required to treat Corona Virus patients.
    Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), officials of MWS said as the situation is going bad to worse every day, they decided to assist administration in tough times so that lives of common people could be saved.
    “In this regard a cheque of rupees ten lacs was handed over to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary by MWS Chairman to get required medical equipments needed to combat the deadly virus.
    “Due to precautionary restrictions imposed by authorities for the wellbeing of community, MSW was unable to come out for the rescue of people of its own as there is already restriction on mass gathering”, an official of the institution said.
    He said, “After thorough deliberation and taking the current situation into account, it was decided that MSW will assist and provide full cooperation to administration while dealing COVID-19 pandemic”.
    He added that the said effort is not first of its kind but organization had done tremendous work in past also during natural calamities including 2014 floods.
    “During the meeting with DC Srinagar, MSW also offered its structures for quarantine purpose in wake of growing number of suspects in Valley but authorities assured they will first visit of the institution and then further course of action will be taken”, official said.
    He further added rations kits containing rice, spices, tea, soap, edible oil etc are being prepared and will be given to needy people with the assistance of administration with taking all precautionary measures into account. (KNS)

    Jammu, 28 March/2020: Amidst lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir due to Corono pandemic and restriction of movement of people, Dr. Shazad Malik, former Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath University and prominent social activist have appealed the Jammu and Kashmir government to make arrangements for providing relief and transportation for stranded passengers from Rajouri and Poonch who are stuck in different areas of Jammu due to non availability of public transportation.

    The former VC informed that there are several people including government employees, students, patients and attendants hailing from remote districts of Jammu region who were in Jammu city but who could not reach their native villages due to lock down and restrictions announced by the local administration.

    Making a fervent appeal to the J & K UT administration, he demanded that all these people who are stuck here in Jammu district are now running out of money and are compelled to stay in Jammu.

    Many of them are without food, medicine and proper shelter, therefore the UT government, the social activists and NGOs should come forward and make arrangements for departure of these stranded passengers to their respective destinations. Though he also appreciated the major relief programs announced by the J & K UT administration and government of India in the wake of COVID19 including providing of free ration and temporary moratorium for paying monthly EMIs to the bank against loans.
