    Rajouri Adm braces up for fight against COVID-19 after a new case

    RajouriApril,19:To take a comprehensive review regarding the containment and management of COVID19 and to also to make a stringent strategy to combat the further spread of CoronaVirus infection in the district, especially after a new positive case came to fore yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Sunday convened a meeting of the nominated administrators, nodal officers and incharge District Control Room for COVID19 here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bunglow.

    The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary,Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambayal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf,Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjeev Puri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, Nodal Officer District Control Room for COVID19, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Deputy District Election Officer, Rizwan Asgar, District Panchayat Officer, Dr. Abdul Khabir, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury ,Chief Animal Husbandry Officer,Sales and Taxation Officer, Ashiq Rafiq, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Aness Altaf Nabi, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone ,all Tehsildars and Block Medical Officers.

    A detailed discussion was held with regards to the activation of Village Surveillance teams, implementation of instructions and advisory in the district, tracking of persons, augmentation of Quarantine facilities, sampling at the site and identification of traditional migration routes and strengthening thereof.

    While speaking during the meeting the DC said that,with reporting of one new positive case of the CoronaVirus infection in the district, there is a dire need to follow all the preventive measures to ensure that no more cases of the infection occur in the district and the common masses are saved from this deadly virus.

    In order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 in the district the Deputy Commissioner said that activation of the village Surveillance teams is the need of the hour.

    The Village Surveillance teams can play a vital role in the tracing of the persons coming from the other district and help in tracing of the contacts. The Tehsildars were given directions to seek information form the teams on daily basis.

    Further he said as we are aware that persons stuck in other districts have embarked a by foot journey and are following the alternate traditional migration routes and entering in the district.

    He directed the Tehsildars and police officers to identify the traditional routes so that entry points can be strengthened and no persons and vehicles is allowed to enter in the district without valid pass.

    It was also decided in the meeting that vehicles carrying Essential Commodities will be allowed to enter in the district.

    It was also decided in the meeting that vehicle sensitization points be established at Deragali and Bimbergali.

    The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Chief Medical officer Rajouri to provide all the PPEs to all the health workers as sufficient funds had been released.

    While taking stock of the facilities being provided at the Quarantine centres, the DC impressed the concerned officers to provide proper hygienic refreshment to the boarders besides ensuring proper sanitation and round the clock electricity at the Quarantine centre.

    DC said that the district administration Rajouri has also launched Epass service to facilitate and mitigate the sufferings of the patients.

    He also said that to ensure the universal coverage of masks,the district administration Rajouri has roped in scores of local entrepreneurs and SHGs for mass production of around 06 lacs reusable masks to contain the spread of COVID19 in the district and to ensure that no shortage of face masks occurs in the district.

    He also urged cooperation among all the constituted teams to avert any eventuality due to COVID-19 in the district.He also stressed for sharing real time information with the District Control Room for COVID19 so that necessary action for the welfare of the general public can be taken within the shortest possible time.

    He directed the concerned officers to remain available at their headquarters and ensure that best possible assistance is provided to the general public in this period of lockdown.He also asked them to be extra cautious of their responsibilities and make concerted efforts to mitigate the sufferings of the general public in these tough circumstances.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Sher Singh while speaking during the meeting emphasises the officers to work in tandem at this time of crisis to contain the spread of corona Virus pandemic in the district.
    He also advised the officers for timely sharing of the information.

    The Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kholi during the meeting said the special flying squads have been constituted to check the migration of labourers from red zones of other district.He also advised the officers for judicious use of movement passes.

    He also requested the Deputy Commissioner to issues separate passes for employees of Thanamandi subdivision, so that the movement to and fro from Thanamandi could be mitigated.

    All the officers in the meeting were provided with hand gloves, sanitizers and masks by the district administration.

    SURANKOTE APRIL 18:– To combat Covid-19 today the young social Activist belongs to surankote Adv Sayed Waseem UL Hassan who is also the President of Jammu Kashmir People’s Parliament-Trust , initiated a Volunteer activity of sanitizing streets in Iqbal Nagar Mohalla of Surankote along with the few Volunteers and sanitized the whole area with sinitizers .

    While taking to media Adv Sayed Waseem UL Hassan said that he took such steps with a Volunteer and constructive approach to protect the said area free from any harmful infection in future and he appealed all the locals of the area especially youth to initiate individual steps to make the area free from infection in advance .

    Waseem also Appreciated the efforts of the Administration and appealed the locals of the area to co-operate with administrative officials and adopt precautionary measures for the safety of General Public.

    During this Activity The social distance among the Volunteers was Fully maintained and the whole activity was initiated in a disciplined manner without the violation of any regulation. The locals and citizens of the area Deeply Appreciated and Congratulated The positive approach of Adv Sayed Waseem UL Hassan and assured him full cooperation in such social activities for the welfare of Common Masses.

    Waseem also thanked media fraternity for his Congenial role to combat Covid-19 and appealed the media persons to highlight the greviances on merits. During this Activity of sanitizing the streets, Basit khan, Sumeet Seghal, Waqar khawaja, Fezan Khan were also present by maintaining social distance.

    Rajouri April 18 :- Kohinoor Educational Charitable Trust delivered/distributed Free Ration Kits to 63 needy families of Villages Gurdhan Pain,Gurdhan Balla And Chawa in Rajouri. This initiative has benefited about 375 members of these needy/distressed families. In addition to this NGO “Kohinoor educational charitable trust” in order to spread awareness among general public posters showing graphics on “How to keep a covid-19 suspected person in isolation at home and deal with this pandemic, were circulated in the area.

    The distribution of ration kits was done in presence of chairman/vice chairman of NGO “Kohinoor educational Charitable Trust”, The beneficiaries of this distribution drive hailed the effort of Kohinoor Educational Charitable Trust in mitigating hardships faced by needy families. NGO Members conducted an extensive survey to identify the needy families through Mohalla/masjid committees of their respective areas so that ration kits reach the deserving families.

    The Ngo is committed in its efforts to mitigate the difficulties faced by people due to lockdown as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. Also the general public is requested to cooperate in stopping the spread of this pandemic and follow the guidelines issued by the Govt from time to time.

    Mendhar:April.18.2020 People Democratic Party State Secretary Advocate Mohd Mahroof Khan on Saturday demanded immediate evacuation of labourers, traders and students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir who are stranded in different parts of the country and have been hit hard over the Coronavirus crisis that has resulted into a countrywide lockdown.

    In a Press statement, Khan expressed deep concern over the condition of these labourers especially belonging to different areas of Poonch district who are stuck in different states of the country. He further said, that over two thousand labourers, traders and students hailing from different areas of Mendhar constituency that include Balakote, Mendhar and Mankote and other parts of District Poonch have got stuck up in different states that include Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Delhi and various other states of the country. Some labourers from Mendhar are also stuck in Jammu and other districts of J&K. They should be immediately brought back to their homes in view of the alarming spread of COVID-19.

    “Under the prevailing circumstances these labourers are the worst-hit because they are dependent on their daily earnings to meet the basic needs and their earnings have been badly hit as ‘’I have been receiving lots of SOS calls from the stranded people and their families that these labourers are running short of money and cannot sustain for too long away from their homes,” Khan added.

    While appreciating the local administration for the measures being taken for prevention of Coronavirus spread in district Poonch Khan said that the government of J&K should ensure availability of ration including rice, Sugar, Flour, Kerosene oil and LPG in government depots and fair price shops in the areas so that poor inhabitants of the district are not left craving for essential commodities.

    Khan demanded that J&K government should provide 3 months free ration to the affected people especially those of labourers, small scale traders, and other marginalized sections of the society till the situation arising out of COVID-19 is overcome.

    “The J&K government should also ensure availability of medicines COVID 19 testing kits, PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment), Masks in all hospitals including District & Sub district hospitals, Primary health centres and sub centres in district Khan” he demanded further.

    انہوں نے مزید بولتے ہوے کہا کہ آفاقی جیسا ایماندار افسر بلاک کی غریب عوام کو کئی سالوں بعد ملا ہے اور پورے علاقہ کی عوام کو آفاقی جیسے افسروں پر فخر ہے, جو ایسے نازک وقت میں لوگوں کی کئی طرح سے مدد کر کے عوام سے اپنے فرض کی بہترین ادائیگی کی دعا لے رہے ہیں.

    کین نے مزید محکمہ دہی ترقی بونجواہ کے نوڈل آفیسر کنٹرول کووِیڈ-19 اعجاز حسین کین کی سراہنا کرتے ہوے کہا کہ اعجاز حسین کین بی ڈی او بونجواہ آفاقی کی نگرانی میں نوڈل افسر کنٹرول کووِیڈ-19 کا فرض بخوبی انجام دے رہا ہے.

    Rajouri April 16 :- Serpanch Dodasan Bala Adv. Zahir Abass demand that farmers should be given seeds to grow maize. Its time to grow maize. Farmers need seeds to sow their crops in time. Due to of Covid-19,the country is facing a lockdown problem. Meanwhile farmers are not getting seeds to grow crops. There is no facility to anyhow get the seeds due to transport remain Serpanch sais.

    Serpanch requested to district administration to direct the agriculture department for providing of seeds in our panchayat of Dodasanbala and also in Thanamandi area within 2 or 3 days to help the farmers to sow their crops at time ,said Sarpanch Zahir Abass.
